Well no one is going to be useful so I guess I'll be. Pretty obvious what it means. He feels like he has no one that he can talk to, even though he's probably physically surrounded by people. This is kind of like I'm Just a Kid in a way. He wants to find someone to just talk to or something because he's tired of not relating to anyone. This is kinda how I feel since my best friend moved and turned into an asshole. I agree with both sides. It could easily be taken as someone who died (I know you're never coming back), but I like to think of it as someone that moved away or maybe didn't move but left them as a friend. So I like to think of it as their best friend/girlfriend/wife/whatever moved or something and they don't talk anymore, and he is willing to do anything to get them back. Kind of like addicted (I'd run a thousand miles to get you). And that if he needs to, he'll wait forever just to be with them for another hour or even a few minutes to tell them anything he didn't before they left. It's kind of that way with me and my old friend right now. Don't know what I'm going to do about it. That's probably also why I interpret it the way I do. |

Once again, it's obvious what this is about. He accidentally fucked up with his girlfriend or wife or something, and she left him. And he loves her more than life. He's saying that he'd do anything to get her back and that any amount of time without her is horrible, a few minutes or a few years.
