M83 – Midnight City Lyrics 12 years ago
Well I think "the city is my church / It wraps me in its blinding twilight" is a very interesting line. Symbol analysts such as Carl Jung have noted that the city and the church (among other things) are part of what he calls "the mother archetype," and the fact that it "wraps" him backs up this interpretation. He feels a delightful overwhelming feeling toward the city at night; he feels like belonging to it and being protected, as if by his mother ...
I really love this song by the way.

Massive Attack – Group Four Lyrics 12 years ago
Could that be a metaphor for artistic creation? I mean she closes her eyes but her breath--her voice I suppose--goes beyond--it is unlimited--and her sixth sense--i.e. her intuition--acts on it. The guardian might then be the conscious creative part (see sober tea, martial arts, i.e. control, mastery) which is yet counter-productive (he locks the doors). So he is wasting his time... He can't prevent her from daydreaming and opening the "world" (which means the piece of art, I believe). What do you think? (PS: sorry for my sloppy English I'm not native).
