I think that this song is also about how even after one becomes concious of their life and how little they and the people around them really mean, they still move on. They (we) even continue to carry out tideous tasks such as shaving in the morning. There is no necessity to shave and there is no reason to continuously do so, similar to life at all. In the end we all die so we hope we can find the meaning in life, hoping to find it by following the same path that others take. Others who dont question their life or their very existence. We just go on. Hoping for maybe, just maybe, there is a point in us shaving. That maybe before we die or even after we die we had some sort of significant impact. When we already know that there is no impact, no aftershock, no meaning. So staying here, suffering, is just an unspoken favor. |
