Lady GaGa – Born This Way Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This song is merely a celebration of being "you", regardless of who or what you are. Just because there is the mention of "God" does not mean the song is in any way religious or slanderous towards any faction. The fact that so many of you feel the need to come on here and force your beliefs down others throats is disgusting. This is a forum for discussing the meanings of songs, not flame wars or the spread of your pathetic, ignorant hate. |

You are a sick and stupid individual. |
Lady GaGa – Born This Way Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Doesn't matter, as that is not the point of this site at all. |
Lady GaGa – Born This Way Lyrics | 11 years ago |
She clearly sings "So we can rejoice your truth". The rest of your post has nothing to do with what this website is about. So please, step down off your soap box yourself. You're sounding just as bad as the religious nutjobs. |

Why didn't you just reply to them then, instead of making a whole new comment? -_- |
Avenged Sevenfold – Nightmare Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I really don't believe this song is about anyone in particular. It seems quite clear to me that the subject of the song is simply being taught the lesson of consequences for committed actions. Perhaps the subject believed what they were doing was the right thing, lied to with the truth twisted by whatever "demons" haunted them. Or perhaps the subject is literally mentally ill, and is unaware of whatever actions they committed. However, the line I find most curious is thus: "So sedated as they Medicate your brain And while you slowly Go insane they tell ya "Given with the best intentions Help you with your complications"" Another possibility is that the subject is undergoing some sort of treatment for mental health, and has either been told by their caretakers that what they have done is wrong(and due to the medicated state, believes them). Or perhaps these are the same voices that they have succumbed to in previous verses due to the medication. There's many ways to take this song, all of which are rather interesting. It almost feels to me like a "Welcome Home(Sanitarium)" message, but with perhaps a much darker protagonist/subject. |
Chevelle – Hats Off to the Bull Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I get the feeling this is about the same person from The Red, which was based on one of the brothers. I'm not familiar enough with the band to know their names though. But I distinctly remember that from an interview they did years ago. |
Metallica – The Thing That Should Not Be Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I've seen it spelled both ways, so take your pick. I really don't care if you disagree, because you're wrong. You would realize this if you'd familiarize yourself with Lovecraft's work, and ceased being an illiterate twat. |
Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit Lyrics | 11 years ago |
While this is correct, I fear most people posting on this site are too god damn stupid to know any better, and will still try and decipher this inherently meaningless song. Also, much of this album was written with disgust for the band's record label at the time, because they were forcing them to release more radio-friendly content. Kurt's response was to write some gibberish that meant nothing, and to insult them at every turn. |
Nirvana – Breed Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Just goes to show how stupid women are when in those subcultures. |
Stone Temple Pilots – Sex Type Thing Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I realize it's two years later, but I'm pretty sure Rape Me was about the industry and how it treated musicians at the time. |

So many ignorant, illiterate morons trying to "educate" others. First of all, this song is not based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story "Call of Cthulhu". It is based upon his novella "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". The "Thing That Should Not Be" in question is aquatic deity Daigon, for which there is a cult founded and dedicated to it within the city Innsmouth. The "hybrid children" are the Deep Ones, which are basically half-human half-fish mutations created by Daigon. Secondly, there is NO deeper meaning to the story. There is nothing to be taken away from this song, there is no implication to anyone's life experiences, or purpose to the song. It is nothing more than Lovecraft's story in song form. Finally, quit trying to educate people on subject matter you know nothing about. |
