I scoff at your reasoning. Nothing is as beautiful as true love. Everything else pales in comparison. In the music world, unfortunately, sex masquerades as love (and, yes, there are far too many trivial songs about supposed love), but true love, through time, has been handled (depicted) beautifully through poetry; literature; prose; etc. Its essence resides in nature, and there is nothing more natural than human loving human. |

I second that and for good reason. He wants affirmation that he's adored, but no matter how often he's told, he still won't believe it. It has LITTLE to do with her. And it doesn't really matter because she's not in his league; he has a certain type he allows into his world and she doesn't fit that mold. And no matter what she does to her body or her personality, she will never be what he likes. He will never feel safe with her. And he'll continue to run from her while living in dreams. I featured this band on my blog today, along with three of its songs. (Sex Drive is my favorite, but it was far from the group's most popular.) S/he (and with the lead singer Paul it's sometimes difficult to tell:) wants fun and surprises, not yawns. S/he wants someone to lie beside her, not lie to her face. And s/he doesn't wish to swallow his "sweet nature," although that line doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the song....unless it means he's "sweet" with other women. FUN 80's band. Paul pre-dated Boy George in style/individuality, but Boy got all the attention... |
