CIWWAF isn't straightedge; Shaant has been struggling/was struggling with alcoholism. Also, while these guys admittedly make a lot of good, hook-filled music, these lyrics are absolutely embarrassing. "You are a sellout but you couldn't even do that right / now your price tag has been slashed, and now you're chillin' on a half-priced clearance rack". A half-priced clearance rack? Really, Shaant? Someone needs to teach him how to write some lyrics. This whole album sounded like they were trying too hard with their lyrical content to the point of sounding just plain stupid at times. But the songs are catchy, so that's all that matters. I prefer "There's a Class for This" and "Curse of Curves" over this song any day, though; feels more natural and the lyrics don't grate on your intelligence. |
