This song can be interpreted in two ways: First could be about a relationship between two people where one wishes to leave and the other holds tight. Second, and the one that I feel is the most accurate is that this song is this song represents the story of Persephone and Hades, sung from his perspective. This is evident when you take into account the lyrics "To keep her caged would just delay the spring" since as long as Persephone was in the Underworld "caged" and bound to Hades, Spring time would never come. |
