Judith was the name of Maynard's mother who became paralyzed and was for about 27 years. And even though she was paralyzed she always kept faith. In a way this is Maynard saying to his mother like according to your faith God is responsible for you being in that wheelchair and you did nothing to deserve that. But i also think he respects her for holding on to her faith despite the conditions she had lived through. |

Roman and Greek Mythology are known to almost be identical. The Roman god Saturn was known as Cronus in Greek mythology. Cronus overthrew his father, Uranus. He then in fear that his children would do the same to him would wait for them to be born and eat them. Eventually Rhea (his wife) grew tired of this and instead of handing him the newly born child, she gave him a stone wrapped in blankets, and hid the baby. Cronus ate the stone and the baby, which was Zeus, grew strong enough that eventually he forced his father to disgorge all of his siblings which were, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Hestia. Zeus then overpowered his father to succeed him as the King of the Gods.

On the aMOTION DVD commentary Maynard said that it was about several different people who basically used him for their own gain and never really saw him as he truly was but saw him for what they could get out of him. But obviously he saw them for what they were. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time and my spine tingles every time i hear it. The amount of emotion put into it is unbelievable. |

I watched the aMOTION DVD with Maynard's commentary on and when the music video for this song came on he said that he went to an AA meeting with one of his friends and one of the guys who was sharing said "Don't let you halo fall and choke you to death." and that's how he got the idea for the song |
