To me, this song means about how we take some of the things God does for us for granted. He helps us in mysterious ways and aren't often appreciative to that. We're upset that he put us through something instead of being grateful for him putting us through it, to get stronger and being there to hold our hand. He has a plan for everyone. "why'd you have to wait? to find me, to find me" he does everything for a reason sometimes it's just hard for us to see it. |

Okay well to me, this song seems like it has something to do with two people; couple or non-couple. It just depends how you want to look at it. But it's two people who are obviously saying their goodbyes to each other, and it seems they aren't really ready to say this goodbye but are being forced to? or because it's what they believe is the best for now. The lyrics say "Maybe in five or ten yours and mine will meet again, straighten this whole thing out. Maybe then honesty need not be feared as a friend or enemy." This seems to mean that apparently right now things can't be settled, as if they're too close to it and need to step back and give it five or ten years of growing so they can figure it out. And the honesty quote seems to mean something a long the lines of not being able to accept what's happened but five ten years down the line it would have blown over making the truth - honesty not feared as an enemy or welcomed as a friend. just sort of a fact. So they're distancing themselves, and he says "this is my gameface" as if it's a tough decision but he's gonna have to be strong about it. And the last two lines, This is your maverick. This is Vienna. Maverick - someone who exhibits great independence in thought and action maybe the person who he's saying this two wanted to be free or "independent" and thought this was for the better so him leaving is her maverick and opportunity. "This is Vienna." is a little harder.. it could mean their chance to find something greater? or simply just be reffering to it as the city. |

I really love this song. It's so easy for me to relate to. (warning - total sob story, don't read if not interested lol) Some of the best times me and my ex boyfriend spent together were in december, I can still remember that first december we shared when our love was blossoming and becoming something beautiful. Months flew by and challenges arose but we stuck by each other despite them and despite everyone telling us to just give up. A year later, I ended up getting pregnant and we were both completely thrilled and ready to be a happy family! But in the end, it only drove us apart from each other after only 6 weeks. We fought and I eventually moved out of the apartment. We still had feelings for each other but I felt it was best we broke up or atleast take a break. Well that break turned into a few months, and now here I am 6 months pregnant - without him. I understand exactly what the first couple of lines are like, the awkward reuniting conversation. We began speaking to each other after all that time, and we were both afraid of letting each other in because we were used to the thoughts of moving on and becoming numb. But talking again, only realized how our feelings still were infused in our souls. He wants to be together again, I feel so dumb for even ending things but it needed to be done. I want to be with him, the baby even misses him. which hurts even more. but I wonder if it'd work out. "Maybe this is wishful thinking, probably mindless dreaming, but if we loved again, I swear I'd love you right." Damn. |

I really love this song, there is so much reference to how great the men that fight for our country are for doing what they do, which is true. But they never really talk about what making a decision like that does to the person's family. This song really gets into the emotion of that. Throughout the song you can understand what it's like for the person ( I'm thinking it's a girlfriend or wife) missing their deployed loved one, but also that the whole thing is just fucked up. She spends her whole life thinking about it, trying to live normal but really feels it's so fucked up and wants to be normal, and she stays by the phone waiting for the phonecall but what can she really say? that she misses him? he knows that. She is always debating with herself if she should stay and wait around for him or leave but she loves him. and she remembers the way things used to be, but it seems he cares more about his career than the family itself. so at the end she ends up leaving, and he is left to ask 'Where'd you go?' |

This song is the perfect description of your life as a girl at fifteen. You're a freshman, all you care about is who you're dating and who you're friends are. you don't have big problems or decisions to make. Taylor says "this is life before you know who you're gonna be" because at just fifteen you have no idea who you're gonna grow up to be, these are the years where it will mold you into who you will be. Also, I could really relate to "back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday but I realized some bigger dreams of mine" because I honestly thought, like alot, I would have stayed with that guy forever, through whatever, but we didn't. and the breakup made me see that I was stupid to rush in and I have a whole life ahead of me to do better things. :) I love this song! |

This song is both beautiful and touching. It shows the way a father feels for his daughter, every time I listen to it I cry because it makes me think of my own dad and how he hasn't always been the best father because of his alcohol abuse but it makes me understand why he got better, for me and my sisters. it makes me want to hug him and thank him after all these years but I can't. It also makes me think of me and my ex. About how we promised that when we were going to start our family, we'd do everything in our power to stay together for our kids. Now I'm a little over 5 months pregnant and he's abandoned me and the baby and listening to this song crushes me because my baby won't be able to experience that unconditional love from his/her father. :'( |
