Bruce Springsteen – Death to My Hometown Lyrics 10 years ago
My opinion is that Born in the USA is a great album, tekjansen09.

Peter Schilling – Major Tom (Coming Home) Lyrics 10 years ago
This song makes me think of a middle-aged chemist singing karaoke for some reason.

Grateful Dead – Touch Of Grey Lyrics 12 years ago
Agreed josher. It is incredible how the sentiment of this song transcends time. Here, at the end of June 2012, when things look very bleak for this country, we need a reminder to press on.

Bruce Springsteen – Death to My Hometown Lyrics 12 years ago
Not Bruce's best work - this song is far too strident in its faux-populist self-righteousness. He's better sticking to songs about the human condition and leave all of the politicking behind. And incidentally, there is someone to blame, and that's our elected officials in Washington, the ones who have systematically run down our economy and country.

Natalie Merchant – These Are The Days Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is actually called "These are Days", not "These are the Days".

Etta James – I'd Rather Go Blind Lyrics 12 years ago
The pain and heartache in her vocal on this song moves me every time.

RIP Etta.

Dawes – It's A Little Bit Of Everything Lyrics 12 years ago
This is a great song with three little vignettes about different aspects of life. To me it sounds like classic Jackson Browne, right down to the guitar solo.

Alexander Ebert – Million Years Lyrics 12 years ago
I love the "holy shit" in here too. It's what pops into my mind when I see something incredible or overwhelming, like the feeling you get when you find the right one.

I agree with the comments above. Just want to add that Lyle Lovett does an amazing version of this song.

I don't feel there is any real meaning to these lyrics, but it definitely has a great lead guitar in it.

Bonnie Raitt – I Can't Make You Love Me Lyrics 12 years ago
This, to me, is the saddest song ever written. Bonnie Raitt's performance on this is so full of soul and heartache, it's almost painful to listen to, but at the same time it's amazing to listen to a song with so much honesty and a perfect vocal.

The Beatles – Two of Us Lyrics 12 years ago
This song has such a great feel to it. It reminds me of my best friend when I was a kid, who moved to the other side of the country when we were 13. I was devastated by it, and even though I visited his family for 2 weeks the following summer we lost track over time. Such a long time ago but such great memories and this brings them all back.

Great song. I'm not religious at all but it captures parent/child love very well.

Paul Simon – Father and Daughter Lyrics 12 years ago
He doesn't say that he loves his daughter more than anyone else. He says no one else could love his daughter more than he loves his own. As much as, maybe, but not more.

Excellent song. I hear it whenever I look at my daughter.
