This song is about Ed Sheeran and is a response to his song Don't.

Fall Out Boy – Where Did the Party Go Lyrics 8 years ago
@[chris10103:5604] that can definitely be another interpretation, but to further back up my point:
Menthols are generally preferred by women, this means one stereotype for them is that they're quite girly/feminine - which could be an image projected on a guy that is seen to be growing up.
Girls getting back rubs - think of girls being interesting in shopping and spas, getting their hair and nails done etc. It's another stereotype that would be associated with women that are more grown up. They're all moving on, becoming boring, getting old.
But of course you're totally right too :)

The Pretty Reckless – Burn Lyrics 10 years ago
Here comes the darkness
It's eating at my soul
Now that the spark has
Gone out of control
This fire is raging
I can't find the door
I just wanna die here
But you wanted more

You want me to burn
Want me to burn
Want me to hurt
And maybe I will finally learn

Here comes the darkness
It's eating at my brain
Now that the light has
Driven me insane
This fire is blazing
And I'm still inside
I just wanna die here
You won''t let me out alive

You want me to burn
Want me to burn
Want me to hurt
And maybe I will finally learn

The Pretty Reckless – Dear Sister Lyrics 10 years ago
For some reason it corrected the lyrics to the wrong song? Anyway, these are the correct lyrics:

Dear sister, can you help me lie?
I’ve told the truth so many years
No one seems to wanna hear that
I’m not someone else inside

I’ve been alone this lonely road
Looks like I’m not coming home
But I don’t mind, please don’t cry

Lindsey Stirling – Stars Align Lyrics 10 years ago
"I was down to the wire, and I really wanted to have twelve songs. What's interesting about this album, and I see this as I'm working on the new album, you create lots of ideas, and then you pick the best. For this last album, I literally created twelve songs. That's all I had, and they all ended up on the final tracklisting."

"It's miraculous if you think about it. I ended up liking every single song. I used everything I had," Stirling continued. "'Stars Align' came at the last minute. At the last minute, I found a producer I liked. I met with him and within four days we created this song. That's why I called it 'Stars Align,' because at the time I thought, 'A miracle has to happen if I'm going to have another song in five days.' I felt like the stars aligned for me to finish the record. That's why there are twelve and it's called 'Stars Align.'"

The Pretty Reckless – Kill Me Lyrics 10 years ago
For anyone after the correct lyrics, here they are. I've used the lyric correction form but don't know whether they actually make the changes on here.

Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone

Let me open up the discussion with
I'm not impressed
With any mother fucking word I say
See I lied that I cried
When he came inside
And now I'm burning a highway Hades

Shut the fuck up
When I'm trying to think
I gotta keep my concentration
Give me one more drink
And then I'll try to remember all the advice
That my good book told me

And all the lost souls say...
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
Or get me out of the sun
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
Someone get me out of the sun

Drugs, bars, backseats of cars blowing boys
What a boring life I've led so far
Just a prime thirteen
When I rode his machine
Tried to keep my body dirty
And my eyes closed and clean

So with a wink
And a smile and a vial of meth
I took his hand
And then we walked through the shadow of death
And then I tried to remember all the advice that my teacher told me

And all the lost souls say...
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
Or get me out of the sun
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
And get me out of the sun
Someone get me out of the sun
Someone get me out of the sun

Deep, deeper, deeper inside
Pull the wool nice and tight
So that it covers your eyes
Can't find a god, love, Jesus, father
I don't even care that much
So why do I even bother?

So let me just end how I was gonna begin
Don't waste your time waiting 'cause I'm going back in
Now if I could just remember all the advice that my mother told me

And all the
And all the lost souls say...
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
Or get me out of the sun
Every day I wake up
Every day I wake up alone
(Kill me just kill me!)
Just get me out of the sun
(Kill me just kill me!)
Someone get me out of the sun
(Kill me just kill me!)
Someone get me out of the sun.

Blessthefall – You Wear A Crown But You're No King Lyrics 10 years ago
I recognise that you have posted this as your 'opinion'. However you are certainly wrong. Okay, firstly they are not burning crosses. They're just ordinary fire pits/camp fires. Clearly you just want them to be burning crosses to back up your belief. If you look closely though, they are just camp fires. (If you just look at the basic pattern of a campfire, they can look similar to a cross, but that's just the way they're BUILT)

Secondly, the music video actually doesn't relate to the lyrics of this song at all. So your overall premise is incorrect as the evidence you use is unrelated. The basic meaning of the song is that some person of extreme power (e.g. a king) is abusing that power by using it for personal gain. They are not doing their job and because of this society (or the empire) is failing. This then means that people in that society have to fight to survive. The meaning of this song could be compared to the dystopian or apocalyptic genres which are popular in films/books right now. The video, however, contains Blessthefall performing at night with camp fires/small bonfires as a source of light and warmth. It shows clips of Beau Bokan chopping wood in the forest - so he's getting fire wood. And then when he's built the bonfire he's just watching it, looking deep in thought. Then he accidentally catches fire and in the end he 'becomes' the person in the album artwork for 'Hollow Bodies'. Potentially, that could be what is meant by hollow bodies.

Thirdly, all the members of Blessthefall are Roman Catholics. This makes it very hard to believe that they would write and perform a song about abandonment of the Christian faith or Satanism or anti-Christianity. It seems to me that you're just another person who unfortunately believes that all rock/metal/punk music is wrong. I'm sorry that this song doesn't mean what you want it to mean.

In the Youtube video comments there are many people comparing this to 'Game of Thrones' and if you've seen the TV show or read the books it's easy to see why people believe this song is based on it.

Fall Out Boy – Where Did the Party Go Lyrics 10 years ago
Parts of this song make me think that's it's about Fall Out Boy making a comeback only to find that many of their fans might have grown up and moved on:

"And all the boys are smoking Menthol's,
Girls are getting back rubs"

(They're not interested in Fall Out Boy any more, they've moved on, "grown up" become boring etc)

Plus, obviously the line "Where did the party go?"

Also, these lines:

"I'm here to collect your hearts,
It's the only reason that I sing"

show that the band are trying to earn a new fans. They may have lost their old fans but (new) people will always enjoy their music.

This line:

"Silent film stars stuck in talking cinema light"
seems to be talking about the move from silent films moving to 'talkies'. Many silent film stars struggled because they weren't used to talking in films, it had all been about the emotion portrayed through expression, body language and music. But some silent films stars did manage to make a career out of 'talkies'. I guess through this comparison to film, Fall Out Boy are saying that they hope they can be the ones that will make it through the progression of music.

This is just one interpretation of the song though.

Lights – In the Dark I See Lyrics 11 years ago
When I saw Lights live she explained the story behind this song. She said that someone she'd been dating someone and they broke up. She was very angry and upset so she wrote a song to express that anger. She had it all written and was going to let the world hear it but then she realised that it was wrong to do so. It would be better to write a positive song rather than a negative song. So instead she wrote a different song, this one.

That's all she said, so I've interpreted this song based off of that story. There are plenty of interpretations, but here's mine:

Basically, I think that this song is set after the break up. She's saying that even though he hurt her, he's still the only one in the dark she can see. Because they had a good time together and she does miss him, even though the relationship ended badly. At the time he was always there for her and she'll never forget that.

When I saw Lights at the Hop Farm festival she said that the key lyrics in this song are: you're not close enough. It's about being far away from someone you love dearly and in Lights' case she is referring to her husband, Beau Bokan.

Coldplay – Princess of China Lyrics 12 years ago
To be honest guys, you need to understand that music changes, artists change, everything develops, and so if Coldplay want to change their sound just for ONE SONG then that's fine. You can't expect ALL their music to be the same, because it would be absolutely boring.

Secondly, you can't expect their lyrics to always be deep and meaningful. Sometimes it's good to have a song that doesn't need to be pulled apart, dissected and over-studied. That’s not the point of music; it’s meant to be listened to and enjoyed.

I personally dislike Rihanna. In fact, I’m not too keen on Coldplay either. But there’s just something catchy about this song. I’m not sure if it’s the synth sounds or the fact that their voices actually work quite well together, but I think this song is good.

So I can understand why some of you may form a negative judgement of this song, but I can honestly say that you need to refrain from getting so worked up about it. It’s just a song.

This song is about how fate plays a part in love. Think of how unlikely it could be that you even met that person, if just one thing changed their path or yours then you wouldn't have had the chance to fall in love. It can also be about friendship too.

Lights – Banner Lyrics 12 years ago
I think that there are MANY interpretations of this song.

Firstly, a 'banner' could be many things:
It could be a white banner which means surrendering
It could be a banner of protest; standing up for what you believe in and fighting for it
It could be a banner symbolising peace, which also goes back to the idea of surrendering
It could also be a metaphorical banner, one which shows a change in someone's life. Like if someone wishes to change their life for the better good.

Secondly, 'nobody mapped Oblivion' is clearly an Elder Scrolls reference. Evidence that this could be true is that I've seen LIGHTS tweeting about both Oblivion and Skyrim.

It is also clear that this is a song about standing up for what you believe in, which also goes back to my point about protest.

Chase and Status – End Credits Lyrics 12 years ago
I know that this song appears to obviosly be about death, but I think there's more to it than that. I think this might be about someone who has a life of crime; as many Plan B songs tend to be about. But that person has had a spot of bad luck and is now on the verge of dying. He's just thinking about life and death; wondering if there' anything after death, wishing he didn't have to go, wanting the one he loves to be there beside him. But he's all alone and it's unlikely anyone will miss him once he's dead.

I for one believe that this song can be about anyone you have faith in and who's there for you no matter what :) Of course, I'm also not saying that this isn't about God; because He may be the one who you have faith in and who'll look out for you no matter what :D

Foster the People – Pumped Up Kicks Lyrics 12 years ago
Okay, so lots of people are saying he's some disturbed teen off to kill thye people with those 'pumped up kicks'.

That's not what I think at all, people in the world are takin some lyrics TOO literal, and you're thinking about things so depressingly!

'Robert' is merely a boy stuck between childhood and teenage years, hence 'cowboy' and 'cigarette'. And he takes a strong dislike to those kids who have 'grown up'. He's just a confused teen who doesn't know where he belongs.
