Why hasn't this song got any comments yet? We're The Same is great, music- and lyricwise.. I guess it is about not letting yourself go.. you know, like when you are at a really low point in your life and you can't see the sense of your existence anymore.. because you only see all those bad things happened to you. When you think that you will lose anyways and don't even give things a try.. The song captures this feelings and tries to tell you that you won't be able to solve your problems when you don't even try to.. I think this is the main point Sum wanna mention with this song. Never give up. ;) |

I think this song is about not being able to get over a special situation, a break up possibly or losing someone in general.. This kinda feeling, when you try to forget someone or something on the one hand, but on the other hand you somehow don't want to forget as well.. [I dunno how to express this better, but I hope you understand what I mean..]. And through all this contradictions you kinda get more and more broken inside, but you can't stop thinking, though.. This "lifestyle" of thinking, forgetting & remembering again and again works for a while but then everything just gets too much and you're not able to bear it anymore.. 'Slipping Away' is about being about to give up, I guess.. I wish that it'd be longer, but the song also kinda gained more intensity through being so short but straight to the point at the same time.. It's one of Sum 41's deepest songs I think.. |

This song's so brilliant! Bayside is such an amazing band.. I guess that it is about someone who got cheaten by his girlfriend.. She completely changed and he doesn't know how to react on this situation.. He's utterly confused, frustrated and overcharged & now he is absolutely freaking out.. he kinda lost control of himself.. Well, that's just what I think.. Hope that someone else will post his opinion to the lyrics, 'cause this song is just fuckin' astonishing..:) |

I love Billy Talent and 'Surrender' is my favorite song for almost 3 years now.. The lyrics are so emotional and deep.. and listening to the song you really can FEEL how much Ben means the words he's singing.. I also love the way Bens voice harmonizes with Ians.. Like lots of you said before, I think that the song is about a guy falling in love with a girl he kinda can't reach, 'cause she only sees him as a friend.. her best friend probably. The guy doesn't know what to do, 'cause he doesn't want to destroy their friendship by telling her how much he is feeling for her.. I love how BT play with the word "Surrender" in this song.. at first, in the "every word, every thought, every sound"-part, they use it in the meaning of "capitulate" and later, when Ben's singing "surrender yourself to me", they apply it as a hint to the girl to kinda not overlook the guys love anymore.. 'Surrender' is so personal.. that's why I adore this song so much.. |
