Had it happen once...Mark (an aspiring electrician) dumped me for his ex, who turned around and dumped him approx 2 weeks later. If I believed it karma, I'd chalk it up to that. As for him, his karma was in full effect as he was arrested for using TCH soon after and I went on to meet a wonderful man whom I married. |

LOL. How many crack heads to you know? I've met quite a few and never heard that saying. Man, now I've got to research that saying...just curious. As for the song, for those with addtions they are like machines. Their thoughts are always on the next fix and their motions are ruled by their thirst for the next high. Watched as good people lost everything (homes; college; child custody; respect of their bodies; marriages; etc) to drug/alcohol additions, along with gambling and sexual additions. Nasty way to live; my heart always broke a little for the ones I talked with (through my job) that were very good people who had merely lost their way and who didn't have the strength to get the help they so desperately needed. |

It's an excellent song that hits hard and deep. Hadn't realized he sang this until someone I stumbled upon was listening to it two years back. The use of "nigger" is hard-hitting. And he uses it intentionally. It's a word that does not have its roots with African Americans. A nigger was originallly a low life, regardless of gender; color; creed; etc. Love the song, with the the exception of the line about men making us bare and raise their children. It takes two to conceive and it's about choice...before, during, and after birth. In fact, men don't even get a say if we choose to kill our growing child. Times have changed drastically since this song was written and although many of the ol' stereotypes about women remain, we have made huge strides within the court system; the workplace; and the colleges. Who knew more women would be enrolled in college now than men? Who knew white males would be dropping out of high school at higher rates than women (and minorities)? Who knew that in a few decades it will be women dominating the top jobs due to their college degrees? For some, we will always be the niggers of the world, but it is up to us to live our lives the way we see fit while fighting discrimination whenever we are faced with it. Wonderful song! |

Thank you for your common sense. It's a rather humorous song...at midnight she is like Cinderella....turning back into a domestic slave. For the person who talked about the "life of a housewife" and "being submissve," s/he obviously has no knowledge of a decent mutually-rewarding relationship that is often established to give children the best possible childhood. One can choose to stay home and manage her family (or his) and not be submissive. One can nurture and provide something other than money while being whole and a contributing adult. (Why do many in our soceity see worth in earning a buck but not in keeping a family on a healthy track???) Let's face facts, many children would turn out MUCH better if their parents either chose to sacrfice the doe ($$$); expensive cars; and family vacations; or were fiscally able to...instead we have generations of children raised by poorly paid day care workers. The song is definitely not romantic, but it's great satire...reminds me of the song "I Wanna Be Your Dog." |

Funny, but that's what I thought when I first heard this song...Bowie's version is too slow, and I'm a Bowie fan. Began listening to this band a few days ago and am impressed. Hadn't realized anyone had covered Bowie's song. The song is excellent...makes one think what s/he would do (but more importantly how s/he would feel) if s/he knew her life were tied to a stop watch. Would we give up/give in and accept defeat. Would be try to squeeze in everything on our 'to do' list. Would we take risks and shoot for the moon, regardless of possible negative consequences (ie. bungee jumping would be tops on my list due to a fear of heights). Any song a band sings/performs that causes the listener to be introspective (to examine one's own life) is a worthy song... |

Are you joking. You liken gender confusion to not being PC. Apparently you've never been confused. It's a disorder, and it's sad. And just maybe the 'pc' buzz word has been thrown around so loosly to fall in line with the downward moral spiral of society....of disease; unwanted pregnancy; abortion; the pathetic need for instant gratification; of adultry; divorce; depression; lonliness...and yes, gender confusion. Gender confusion often results from childhood neglect; sexual abuse; etc. It's SAD, not something to be celebrated, unless of course you merely need to find a reason for your (not necessary you) actions. If a person is that insecure in what he or she is doing, than I would venture to guess he is NOT happy (and thus woudln't be celebrating). Sorry, but the people I have met over the decades who went from bed-to-bed were NOT happy. They were constantly searching for a connection or they were merely displaying destruction behavior that hid their pain. Hate the title of this song, but I doubt it was a coincidental choice. I believe "Nancy Boy" (at one time) meant a 'sissy'....a mother's boy. So this song, I suppose, is aptly titled....someone molested by mom, perhaps, who is sexually confused due to the abuse. |
