I agree with this interpretation. It is very clear that there is a premature loss of innocence, some alcohol (liver reference, and the 'onus' line); not to mention Vernon explicitly tells his audience the song is about wine, virginity, and the dorms. |

common, I agree with you on your interpretation of 'fide' but I believe that 'fane' is a word for something ancient or archaic. I could be wrong, but it fits with the reference to pushing around dust. This album is full of unusual word choice by Vernon; it brings an added depth to the lyricism and really invites the listener to invest more in the music. |
