I asked my friend to listen to this (he's awsomely smart) and he interpeted it this way: Just as said before this might not be actually about the car radio stolen though I think that because it's ambiguous yet talks about kinda the same feelings that hit you at that moment is cool, and I guess that's how metaphores should be. The thing I love about my friend is that he can explain symptoms of the metphore and not just generally speak about it. He actually points it: The car is a metaphore for life, and the lack of radio is the problem. The radio itself can be a even a girl (replace that slot with what I once bought) - meaning find a new girlfriend or trying to avoid the problem or whatever you interpert it as. Pulling the steering wheel - taking control on his life, I also liked the interpetion of someone here - commiting suicide. I just love how he can build and make you know the emotions even without knowing the metaphore and then agreeing about both, and also he uses lots of motives and artistic stuff just very very skilled and beautiful writing, and of course great song! One thing about 21 pilots I think they should improve: the electro riffs should be shorter cause they can sometime give a headache. :) |

I get very emotional with this song' it's just a strong friendship, I can sense that feeling... I see it quiet interesting to see this song as a love song cause it sets its own feelings that way: Bright Hopes Come True As We Walk Downtown Smiling And Laughing As Friendship And Exhaustion Collide We Celebrate A Two Year Wait A Distant Dream Is Born We Eat And Drink Ourselves Full And Pay Up With All We Have For The Day We Sit Down Excited Though, the song seems to be and probably is about the band, their strong friendship through life and espcially when they get success as described in the song, try to hold it against what they are through, they lost their magic for a while as it seems but they are finally back for agreeing and holding back their friendship and this is an alrealdy a more important, good beginning. |

Strong lyrics and video. All i've got is super-general idea, that like I'll try to combine all of the stuff said here. Sunburn I think might refer to some glorious thing we really want, and it burns us and it attracts us like hell (might be a girl or some other stuff), but like it's like those shitty things, talking about beeing greedy. So we try our best to get our sh*t and covering ourself with dirt. Now I'm not sure about that part but this part is quiet more solid: this dirt we cover ourself with: you lie and steal (the video is like taking the example of stealing) and then we like get what we want with the feeling of guiltness. Now I'll just use the video to explain it: At this part we are like all in love with ourselves - the girl lookes in the mirror with the stolen jewlery and like what she sees, but then muse/conscience/someone wakes the of you up like breaking all your fake self-image, you actually got blind from the sun if you know what I mean, you can't truly see yourself and you lies and then in a bam their like her conscience telling her the truth about how awfull she really is and she close her ears denies the truth till it destroy her and she breaks the mirror, and the kid is like looking at the mirror seeing her fake image but can't see her. I think "come spend your millions here" is like and example of society tricking each other (when you want something badly like a girl she's like saying: "spend millions on me" or anything else you would give the world for, or when someone is selling you something he's lying to you and then it's this conscience that wakes, I'm not quiet sure what exactly the situation he's trying to tell about, but maybe it's like the brainwashing that was talked about here - commertials, sellers, all fake, lies ... but anyway in general idea - money is a very desirefull thing so it might connect in some way to this dirt we've talked before). WOW that was long but I was just trying to present you a variety of possibilites while showing you the general/main idea, which is kind of constant in each possibility. |

I'm not quiet sure about this thing, maybe a kid who is brilliant and no one sees it: Maybe his father is like "that's for what you've done you foolish boy" and drown him, and his secret is actually his geuineusity (sorry about my spelling P: Im lazy) and maybe it's like what've been said before - a geniues who is alone and can't make the best of himself, maybe he's some kind of trying to be too perfect and the things he's doing in the night is to punish himself for not making something with himself or doing a little mistakes. Yeah I know it's pointless to tell you all of these options but I have another tehory that actually connects but I yet connected everything completely: I think it might have a connection to the holocost - as you know Regina is jew so it actually makes kind of sense + it connects to the German storys. It's like I'm not quiet sure but I guess the kid is german and lives near the gettho or something and so he sees all the children die in the lake by the Germans, and he's like hiding and doing some jobs nearby and keeps the secret when the people come to see as hitler hidden the holocost form the wold. maybe the kid is jew that tricks the germans and like a guineus that work in some stupid jobs and everybody laugths at him when he tells everybody gonna get killed. So it doesn't metter which theory we talk about there's one thing in common: In the end he tries to kill himself with a secret . |

I think it's simply about growing .. it's like everybody were born naive .. and his mother or someone who care about him wanted him to to stay naive.. so she held him in the familiar room - the house -> his room. but he was curious.. and that's where he dreamed to be with everybody.. he was looking outside all the time.. but they everybody outside jackals ..so his mom didn't want him to go.. but when he grew older, he released from her shackles and could "dance" with them.. so he became one of them.. "learned a new way to move"... so he became a jackal as the name of the song.. "becoming a jackal".. and so he lost his innocence .. like everybody did.. I really don't quite know right now what does this part means: "So before you take this song as truth You should wonder what I'm taking from you How I benefit from you being here Lending me your ears while I'm selling you my fears " but I guess it could be the audience like someone told here before.. or maybe: "So before you take this song as truth" - so before you take him as a jackal ("becoming a jackal") .. he is talking to his mom/lover/ someone who cares about him - lending me your ears.. "while I'm selling you my fears" - telling her how terrible is it to be a jackal.."How I benefit from you being here" - he is enjoying her being here - he wants her back .. he doesn't wanna be outside anymore.. it's like us when we're growing up - we wanna get younger again .. and when we were young we wanted to grow.. |
