I have a different feeling for what this lovely tune is about. I know it's way off, but I get this story of a guy who really loved this girl, and he told her everything and she wasn't just a lover, she was his friend too, and he only has ever been that close to this girl, and his very best friend, and they are "the only ones who know" who he really is on the inside. But eventually his best friend and the girl fall in love, and even though he wants to be upset, he can't because the two best people in his life are happy. But that's just me! |

I think this song's about how nothing is real anymore, not even the plants. everyone's fake and because they are all "made of plastic" they are so easy to break and have no clue who or what they are, they just follow the fashion. |

Maybe I'm crazy but I sorta feel as though this song may be about a guy who used to fit in, and was actually happy, but he did something aweful and now he constantly feels dirty (hence "scrub 'til your fingers are bleeding") and like a "stain" on the cloth that is society. He keeps trying to be a different person, each attempt he becomes a different person, but he no longer knows who he is. He feels as though the moon is his sole companion. |
