"The cold river washed him away,
But how could we forget.
The gatherings hold candles
But not their tongues."

This line, i think, means that a kid committed sucide and he's now dead, and no one he knew will foget that this person is gone, and while they feel sorry and go to his funeral or one of those candle lighting things you see, they aren't going to stop bullying. They won't hold their tongues.

No, you should listen to this song a lot more. Its directed at people EXACTLY. LIKE. YOU! Its telling people like you, people who cant stand gay people so much that theyd stop listening to an awesome song, that there is no reason to be rude or bully or think poorly of gays. They are people and they have their own rights! And if a child is raise by two fathers, or two mothers or something, at least they won't grow up to be as ignorant as you obviously are! THeyll have loving parents who won't care if they are gay or straight, unlike you, who will probably disown any child of yours who happens to be gay!

I dont think song is attacking God in anyway. I feel like its saying that any God WOULDNT damn a heart. It's useing the own beliefs of people who thing homosexuality is wrong against them by saying that God would never do something like that.

Thrice – Image of the Invisible Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is supposed to speak for those too afraid to take action, or for those who arent heard when they do speak.
It seems obvious that this song is about faith and belief, religion, you know, but i also think of children during this song. Abused, bullied, or kidnapped kids are what I think of. I dont particularly know why, but it seems like the singer is talking to a victum and he's saying that you are more then just you appear and you can do something about whatever type of abuse you are taking, and if u cant't then we'll help, because we're listening, and you do have a voice. While I don't think it was written for that reason, I still think this song applies to what I said.
(I'm not really explaining very well am i? I'm a little scatter brained at the moment, but do u get what i'm trying to say?)
