Train – Drops of Jupiter Lyrics 13 years ago
I interpret this song through my personal life. c:

"Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair,"

A woman left a man and came back to him. Self explanatory.

"She acts like summer and walks like rain...
Reminds me that there’s time to change."
"Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June."

She changed.

"Tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the milky way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?"

Were your efforts to find somebody better in vain?

"But tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar,
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?"

Did you fall on love with a great guy who's never been hurt unlike me?

"Now that she’s back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation,
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
Reminds me that there’s room to grow."

She came back and as a better person.

"Now that she’s back in the atmosphere
I’m afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane:
Told a story about a man who was too afraid to fly so he never did land."

He's afraid of that she will look upon him as afraid. Again very self explanatory.

"Tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the milky way?
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?"

That first part is sarcastic. In actuality, I'm the only thing other than wind that would sweep you off your feet.
Did you enjoy life away from me?

"Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken,"

Think of where you were, without the necessities that you had while you were here with me [on Earth, so-to-speak].

"Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you’re wrong?"

Being cute by speaking in third person and then making the mistake of going back to first person.

"Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation, the best soy latte that you ever had, and me?"

This is just my interpretation. The moral of the story here? If she leaves, she'll come back as a better person. So be ready. This I now know from experience. =] If ti's meant to be she'll feel empty and come back for what she feels is right. You. Which means you can again share the love, pride, and deep fried chicken. She just needs some time to figure things out.
