The song isn't necessarily about The Patient's funeral. "Famous Last Words" gives hope that maybe "it was all in his head" (Gerard Way, making of the video) and that maybe he's gonna pull through. Anyways, the Third Verse is pretty confusing; it uses made-up words like "funeral jag" and "penitent's ball" (the term is really cool if you know what "penitent" means). And btw, when Gerard says "Here's my resignation, I'll serve it in drag" I think he is describing hospital gowns to be like women's clothing (hence "in drag"). |
