I just wanted to say how much I like and appreciate this! :) I rarely post interpretations of song lyrics, but when I do, they tend to be very long and very reflective, so you definitely remind me of me. Plus I just think you've made some very good interpretations! I don't know why I'm thanking you for this; it's not like I'm connected to Five for Fighting in any way. I agree, it's a beautiful song! And I like the thought and feeling in your interpretation, and I agree with most of it. However, I think you have a line incorrect -- I don't think it's "Dying for just another moment. I think it's "Time for just another moment." I checked several online lyric sources & unfortunately they're NO help; some say "Dying for" and some say "Time for". :( So much for consistency on the internet! heh. I don't mean to diss or criticize your interpretation because I think it's excellent. I'm just saying that the line you think mentions dying might not actually be mentioning dying. :) Peace. - Shari in California |

Somewhere else (not here) I read a comment from someone where he strongly felt that "Run Runaway" was about Socialism and an encouragement for people to adopt that way of thinking. I never thought that about this song, and I still don't. I'm not saying Socialism is good or bad; it can actually be either. I'm just saying I can't understand how that commentor was so sure that this song is a call to Socialism (?!) |

| I agree that Run Runaway is an awesome song. :) However, I strongly disagree that the 80s was one of the worst decades in music. :( It will always be my absolute favorite! Maybe this is because I came of age in the 1980s; it seems like many of the things folks are exposed to during their childhood and teenage years will always hold a special place in their hearts. And for me, I guess that's the case w/ 80s music. I graduated high school in 1990, so I was both a kid AND a teen in that decade. And it's not just one or two musical genres from the 80s that I love. I love almost EVERY genre that existed in that decade! And I always will. :D | |
