It's not a preachy song where she is saying that being shaved is the wrong choice, she is simply saying it's not her choice. Amanda Palmer is that woman with a strong voice who has never kept her opinions to herself, so she's making a strong statement. But she's also always spoken out for the rest of the women, and she says she's answered to this song quite a bit since writing it and wants people to know it's about choosing. It was written in about 15 minutes, and is really a fun song. It's not meant to be harmful.
