The Goo Goo Dolls – Without You Here Lyrics 6 years ago
Simply. It's about someone who is in love currently and never wants to lose them.

The Gaslight Anthem – Dark Places Lyrics 6 years ago
A great song. I'm my opinion one of his best. A song simply about a man changing and trying to be relevant to his wife or girlfriend. In the end, he wasn't.

R.E.M. – New Test Leper Lyrics 7 years ago
It is about John Merrick (Joseph) aka the elephant man being on a talk show in today's society. Naturally the audience doesn't really care about his side, they just judge.

Warren Zevon – Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead Lyrics 8 years ago
It's been just over twelve years since his death and his music stays strong. "You just roll around Denver all day" is a great line to end a song.

Meat Loaf – It Just Won't Quit Lyrics 9 years ago
I do think it's a time in his life where everything is coming to the forefront and a sense of anxious surrounds him. It's a song about his mental status and he desperately wants it to Leave.

Counting Crows – Palisades Park Lyrics 9 years ago
What a great song and video.

Counting Crows – Possibility Days Lyrics 9 years ago
Another great love (?) song by Adam. A song about regret, heartache and how sometimes it's tough to let go. It's two people who have similar ideas, views, yet somehow it just doesn't fit. They keep trying, fooling each other that it works. Even though they are thinking the opposite. However, like mot Adam lyrics, it fails and the man is left alone. Yet, he knows it will be alright, " and the best part of worst day is knowing it will be okay".

This song pretty much breaks down a middle aged, common white man.

God rest his soul. I completely agree. One of the best and too bad more people don't appreciate his talents.

This is my favourite Counting Crows song, from the first time that I heard it on a cassette in my car when I was 16! It is about an abusive relationship and a friend who wants her to 'change'.
Always loved this song!

Seven Mary Three – Each Little Mystery Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree with exactly what you said. The first time I heard this song, that is what I thought of. It's easier said than done in regards to people talking to each other.

Seven Mary Three – Lame Lyrics 13 years ago
It's about a 'loner' in high school who didn't quite fit in. The narrator is a person reflecting on his high school years (he wasn't popular, or unpopular. He was just average), and he remembers this kid who was different and how nobody paid attention to him. Until the day he did something that none of them will ever forget. Regret is powerful and I believe that is what this song is essentially about.
Great song and great voice.

I love the line "I never trust a guy with a nervous laugh
Worried 'bout the smallest things". How many people can relate to that?

Gin Blossoms – 29 Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree about thinking that 29 would be old and mature. I myself listened to this song when I was a teenager and now am in my thirties. I firmly believe that you are as old as you feel, with exceptions(can't party as much/long as I used to!). I love the line "straight through indifference, without a second look". And he is right with the faded scenes of childhood dreams.
I also remember listening to this song on my 29th Birthday and reflecting what I've done with my life and laughed thinking of all the good times. It is definitely and pessimistic but optimistic song. I for one think that they are great song writers and not just one.
