"you take me higher than the lowest place yet." pretty much saying that he would rather have either the drug or the woman than be alone and have nothing at all. he just wants one more day to live it up and to not care because he knows he'll regret it tomorrow. | |

i love this song so much.... to me, it goes like this... he realized what kind of person his girlfriend was after she broke up with him. she regrets it because she realized what she lost. where as, he realizes she's in the wrong and he's better off without her. "You knew this day would come, and it did. And you really should have waited." she broke up with him. he knew it was coming, but he knew he didn't deserve it. "Go cry yourself to sleep, and you should. Because I'm so faded." she regrets breaking up with him and possibly wants him back. he feels that she deserves to be hurt for hurting him. |

| i think the song is about a couple that has a rocky relationship. they have gone through troubles and when one person tries showing that they care, they feel that the other doesn't care or see it. the girl and guy both feel this way at times. over all, they both care about eachother. and both of them keep trying despite what their 'mind' tells them at times because their heart is still in it. | |

i do think this song is about a relationship with someone that has borderline personality disorder. i've been in one and this portrays it rather well. umm... to 'idnite' i think you've thrown borderline personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder together.. people that have BPD are not psychopaths. people that have antisocial disorder are SOCIOpaths which is the personality of a lot of villians in movies. BP's have consciences. sociopaths do not, which is the primary ailment of being a sociopath- a lack of a conscience and a lack of empathy. you should watch the tv show Dexter. he's a sociopath (who is actually a serial killer) that mimics emotions. just an FYI. |

The general meaning of this song is that a guy realizes that his relationship with a girl is coming to an end. the girl dwells on her past, "While you've been dreaming of the dead and lost." Where as, he is focused on the present and their current relationship, "I Have been awake kissing these clock faces." He sees that this girl is going to let him down and that he can't trust her, "I'll pick up the peices when you've failed and fallen to the ground." But he still cares about her and wants to make the relationship work. I believe they then develop an on and off relationship... The third stanza mentions him being alone, but it won't last forever. "I leave these words in hope that... That we'll meet again, again.. now? I Know this wont last forever, I Know this wont last forever " |
