I think this song actually means something besides what most people are saying in the comments. I think it means that when he says he is Halfway gone that he is just halfway through with everything. The lying people, people who talk, but dont show any action or dont do anything about it,lie to make their way up the corporate ladder, and etc. He feels as though he is half tired of everyhting around him and the state of the world with people today trying to be better than the next in order to achieve greateness. |

I heard of the pilots before, but only listened to one or two of their songs, but Modest Mouse is my favorite band. They are really awesome. Isaac Brock is a better lyricist than Malkmus. I w0ould say that both would be on a top ten list, but Isaac would be higher. The first time I heard of Pavement was from a youtube comment and loved their music ever since. I also love The samshing pumpkins, but both Pavement and Modest Mouse are better than them in my opinion. I just like their sounds and lyrics better. |

Before I get bashed, I would like to say I love Nirvana. Probalbly if I made a list they would be in the top 10 or 20. I have listened to over 500 bands so that is pretty high. Anyways, I would like to say this song is overatted. It is not one of the best in the 90s, but would I guess be better than a lot of songs. I would like to say that many people think Nirvana was the most influential in the 90s, but for me it is Modest Mouse. They were so underrated, and had many songs better than this one, but as I said before, this is a great band. Definetely one of my favorites. |

Yeah. I agree with Mynaeisyou12. The first time I heard of Modest Mouse is from this album, although I did listen to a lot of their older stuff as well and I must say that their older stuff is better, but Modest Mouse are definetly not sell-outs. I could help explaing part of the sell-out point. Sell-outs only make music for money, but non sell-outs make their music for several different reasons like the love of music, to make a meaning in other's lives, or just making others feel better. |

The showering/stinking part may just be self-fufilling prophecy saying that if those people calling them sell-outs keep thinking they are sell-outs then they may in fact become sell-outs. Well I guess that may be part of it. Idk |

Also you have to put the commas around skateshop not in parenthsis. For ex. I was walking around industrial,a skateshop, and then I heard what ever. That is an appositive. |
