I do see many interpretations here and even for myself the song has duel meanings (unrequited love, being one), but I think what the song is actually dealing with is issues involving child stardom.. "It's time the tale were told Of how you took a child And you made him old.. " also the "fifteen minutes" reference. as in... everyone get's their "15 minutes" of fame. The narrator in the song recognizes that this person in the story is now a has-been, but... is not a has-been to them.. "Fifteen minutes with you Oh, I wouldn't say no Oh, people see no worth in you Oh, but I do." This not only comments on this subjects has-been statues, but how the narrator cares says "screw them, I think you're great.. I want 15 minutes with you!" Think.. about any 80's "heart throb" and what a joke they are now. To some crazed fan out there.. I'm sure this song is relatable. That's my hunch anyway. I could be way off.. Love this song, regardless. |

As a female, it's always made me think of having sex in a car (namely, riding someone in the car. ie; double entendre). Having had a lot of car sex in my younger years, the most memorable being on cold late nights after a long drive deep into the country.. seems fitting. Also, to me, shows how a car itself can be sexy. or the idea of a car/sex in a car... however you want to look at it. but, again.. could just be the way I relate to it. None the less, amazing pairing w/ Maynard. Brilliant. Beautiful. Powerful. |

The entire album is pretty sexual. The album title is White Pony ["There's a lot of different references for White Pony. One of them is a cocaine reference and there's a lot of stuff... have you ever heard stuff like in dream books that if you dream about a white pony then you're having a sexual dream? There's a lot of stuff that kinda goes around it. And there's an old song (that goes) 'ride the white horse.' That's obviously a drug reference song." Chino is the perv, hater. |
