| I feel your pain as well. I've had to make decisions that took me away from people in terms of distance. Simultaneously someone who I thought cared let distance be a factor in erasing my memory and all we shared. It never ceases to amaze me how people can forget all you've done for them over a single instance, especially one as distance. It's as if all those precious memories were piled on a fragile pillar of time and distance, and the moment those two faltered, the rest tumbled down like an avalanche and you were the only one trying to catch and salvage whatever you can. That's the feeling this song gives me. It's just painful to know how fast things change due to trivial ideas such as distance and time. But for those of you who do go through this but still have people who never allow such tenuous impediments intervene, you are blessed and I hope you are grateful for such. | It's so unfortunate what a divorce can do to kids. I'm not married nor divorced, just a teen. But I've known so many teens my age who are gauche and unable to express their feelings due to what they had to witness growing up between their parents. Parents don't realize how their bitter quarrels affect their kids to such a degree that it can handicap their social skills beyond repair at times and make them even more insecure. It develops so many hindrances for them growing up that it can be crippling. I'm not blaming you for the divorce or anything. However I just wish parents realized to think things through before breaking things off or even having kids to avoid hurting their young. I know shit happens but still it hurts me to see how much divorce debilitates the kids. Still wish you the best of luck and admire your valor to provide the right ambiance for your kids. | |

This song is amazing and 3DD just does an impeccable job of painting the feelings we feel hide inside. I really relate to this. It's a guy who loves this girl so much and does what he can to make the relationship go to a greater level but the feeling isn't mutual for the girl. She always says she cares about him but for her, he's just someone she uses like a ferry boat to take her across tough tides to the island where she feels she really belongs. It doesn't matter to her what he does for her even though she may say she appreciates it but her actions clearly never live up to her words. Often times than not, he feels an unrequited love. She never returns the same thoughtfulness and concern that he always gives her. Waiting for her love inundates him with a greater agony and this compels him to let go of something that is useless, because despite his efforts foresees a grim future with her. |

A lot of people have said that the person singing seems to be hiding something and rather leave before the other person discovers these secrets. However I think there's another way to look at it. To me when the singer says: "You're not something I deserve" I think he means that he deserves better. He mentions "You love me but don't know who I am" TO me this means that the girl is saying whatever she can to make him believe there's something there between, kind of leading him on. This is further corroborated by "In my head there's only you now This world falls on me In this world there's real and make-believe This seems real to me" He wants to believe this all real but perhaps the girl he loves never makes an effort to find out what's really inside him and without that emotional connection he doubts she really cares about him. It's kind of like being in a relationship with someone who say they care for you but never really bother calling or emailing much or asking personal questions about you to show that they're interested in your life. He wants to believe that there's hope for them but the way things are going his doubts creep up on him to make him believe other wise and this is shown by I dream we head to what I hope for And I turn my back on loving you How can this love be a good thing? When I know what I'm going through And no matter how hard I try I can't escape these things inside So basically he's torn up between staying and hoping for more out of this relationship but he feels that the girl is holding onto him till she finds someone better. And the thought of how she never tries to get to know the real him bothers him. All she does is say she loves him but her actions never bolster her words. It's a depressing reality but I feel it's something that different cultures are compelling upon us. I feel like in different countries family holds different values. Unfortunately in America the dominating belief is that you move out and start your own family and your parents basically kind of have to hope they have a good retirement plan which is moribund in this economically enervating era. Whatever the case may be I plan to be there for my family through any situation and never live knowing my parents are struggling. They gave us life; least we can do is protect them when they need it. |

Every time she sees him she gives him a cordial countenance and appears as if there really is something between them; perhaps a method to not lose him as a person. I think it refers to many things. For one like SouthernCowboy24 said that it's the emotional value that holds the highest standard and one we seem to be forgetting. | This is such a painful melancholic song. It's a convoluted dilemma since he cares so much about this significant other and she is just slipping away. He's agonizing over memories of what once were between them and he feels that he's the only one who remembers them while she is simply enjoying her life and it doesn't bother her at all. So he's at a crossroads cuz his feelings are too great for a normal friendship and he wants stability or to come to grips whether her heart feels the same or is she going to continue to just hang him on the line to dry. All the memories will continue to haunt him until he knows whether they're either fully committed to one another or break away, because every time he sees her it hurts him to not say anything he feels and it's perplexing him to believe that their relationship was nothing more than a dream for a moment and now it means nothing to her.
