Live – Horse Lyrics | 11 years ago |
It's possible. Not what I get from it, but horse is another street name for heroin. |

Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics | 11 years ago |
While I agree about most of the philosophies you obviously subscribe to, I think you are way off on this interpretation of this album and the song. First off, you have to remember, they are a English band. They don't care about the Federal Reserve. That's an American problem. To me, in the absolute most basic of terms, I interpret the album as such: Speak to me/Breathe = Working for the future at the expense of enjoying the present. Time = It's all we have, and they years get shorter every time another passes. Don't waste it. Money = We all want to live the dream. Sure it's the root of evil, but don;t take it from me. Just general ambitions and greed. Us and Them... 100% sure it's about war. From the soldiers point of view mainly. Eclipse = Your life is your experiences. But everything you do ripples into others lives as well. Or maybe it's about the "final judgment" where all your deeds are tallied up.. Maybe I'm wrong, and you're right. Hell that's what genius about Pink Floyd.. so abstract and spacy that it speaks differently to different people. Still, imo, best album of the best band.. ever :) |
Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics | 11 years ago |
This song is simply about the different faces of insanity. The lines The lunatic is in the hall the lunatics are in the hall the paper holds their folded faces to the floor and every day the paper boy brings more is referring to the crazy shit you read about in the paper. The lines below to be are about schizophrenia and lobotomies. The lunatic is in my head = "I'm crazy" you raise the blade, you make the change "You lobotomize me" you rearrange me ' till I'm sane "I stop freaking out.. externally" you lock the door "I no longer can communicate." and throw away the key "forget about me, I am zombified by the lobotomy, not a problem for you anymore" there's someone in my head but it's not me "But I'm still crazy and in hell in my own head" Lastly, the lines And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear you shout and no one seems to hear and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon Are 100% about Syd Barret. Sometimes Syd would just freak out on stage and start playing songs that no one else in the band knew. In his own head, he'd get blasted with a ringing in his ears, and he'd try to call out, but it was as if no one could hear or understand him. This is definitely one of my favorite Floyd tunes. |
A Perfect Circle – The Noose Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I always felt this song is about someone finding "god" and kicking a n addiction. But the person had a very bleak, perhaps violent and murderous, past. The song is basically sarcastically asking "Well, now that you have forgiven yourself, how do you go about getting forgiveness from those you killed or hurt?" |
Cherry Poppin' Daddies – Here Comes The Snake Lyrics | 12 years ago |
It's about sex, pure and simple. Seduction, temptation. Chick had a bad experience, but he'll make it better by eating her "apple". :D |
System of a Down – Mr. Jack Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Cracker – I Want Everything Lyrics | 12 years ago |
No comments??! This song is great. I haven't a clue to what it's about. But man, greatness. |
Soundgarden – Birth Ritual Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What I always got out of this song is how modern medicine allows us to cheat death, and thinking that it's wrong. Lying like needles On forest earth (dead needles fallen off the tree) Euphoric rush (the death experience) Trees bend to pray for us (connection to god/nature w/e) I'm sputtering Like cold machines (like a car running out of gas.. more dying) Late for the birth ritual, ritual, ritual, ritual (and dying again) You can drive my tail (follow) To watch the circus (everyone running amok trying to save him) A birth ritual A birth of idiots (calling those that use medicine to stay idiots I guess) Now I woke up blessed (had an epiphany) And good strives for heart ache (the righteous know people die, but allow it and accept the mourning) Marked for the death ritual, ritual, ritual (again, the dying theme) Goes on and on. I may be wrong, but that what I see in it. This was the 1st Soundgarden song I ever head, and it's still my favorite. Love his voice. And the guitar riff is just .. wow. Simple, repetitive and fucking epic! |
Pearl Jam – Immortality Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I believe you are refering to "In Bloom" and it's "Nature is a whore." |
Pearl Jam – Bugs Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Hmm.. I am not one of those people that feel all song about about drugs... but for me, I thought the song was about the creepy/crawly feeling ya get from coming down. Tickle my nausea. |
Pearl Jam – Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Of course! Crazy doesn't mean stupid, or even retarded. Depending on the kind or level of "crazy", it simply means that their perception of reality differs from the norm. It is completely unconnected with cognitive ability. As a matter of fact, in this modern world of ours, I often wonder how many of us, if we took the time and had deep thoughts of our own, would end up a bit crazy ourselves. BTW, I absolutely appreciate the song. Not that I can listen to it over and over as I can most of theirs, but I get it. I get it and I dig it. |
