I think this song is about two people who are in love, but don't want to admit it. Split Screen Sadness is like "we are in love" "but i cant tell you" because it will ruin us ya know? i like how people said that it's like real life and a movie screen.. what happens in the movies doesn't necessarily(well, it never) parallel to real life. and it sucks. |

God, John Mayer has this arrogance, that is just so sexy. I love this song because it's so sarcastic, but in a way he's totally serious. haha even the guitar part is cherry, and happy...yet the song has this disgust tone to it "Numb is the 'new deep'" haha i love it. |

I LOVE this song, it has many meanings I guess but, in my opinion, this song is about love that has been picked up, shook, then thrown on the ground. Now the pieces aren't even worth picking up. For me, I just witnessed this song,and that's why I love it...the song is about the writers past relationship, how she/he ruined it and now he's trying to justify why they can't be. It's kind of like a bittersweet goodbye. "Here is Gone" means like, since you threw it away there is no "here" (meaning like place and point in the relationship) anymore. I like the part where its like: "And I want to get free, talk to me I can feel you fallin' and I wanted to be all you need Somehow here is gone" I like how it just sways back and forth, like it does in a relationship To me this part is like an emotion hook. I don't know.. He's saying that no I want to be free, no I just want to talk to you, I see how much you hurt but I tried to be there but you weren't ever there, and now "here" (or it could mean the writer) (OR,, the feelings are just void,) is gone. |
