eah freedon of speech is inportant. But this forum is to discuss teh meaning of this song, not to opine about your nonsensical political views. Besides Reagan WAS a great president, he ended the cold war. the evil empire could nort compete withe USA's arms build uip and they went bankrupt, or were on teh verge of it. Capitalism rules and always will. why work hard under marxism? you still get paid the same no matter how hard/ lonmg you work. oK... so now I exercised MY freedom of speech to opine on political issues. |

Pretty sure its NOT about Margret Thatcher since its 20 years before she came on the scene. Plus not sure Dylan was too concerned about British politics. |

Well, i'm not aware of Dylan ever being a junkie, so pretty sure that's not it. PLus what clues in the song lead to that conclusion? Government makes sense, but not completly sure there eitehr; but sounds as good as any of the othrs. |

You believe you know what this song means just as well as Dylan himself does? WEll I think your essay means you're full of BS. And if the interpeter knows what an author means as much as the author, I am confident I am right and you are full of BS. stop reading teh post modern fantasy Philospohy and start using common sense. as an artist trying to communicateI'd be infruriated with you kind of people trying to tell me what my work means. what kind of nonsense is this. Soory if you have to use you mind and think abourt a piece of art to determine teh clues as to its meaning; but put down teh bong and do it befroe trying to tellme what i am trying to say. And BTW, I KNOW YOU are frull of BS, because (1) you give teh interpreter the right to reinterpet another persons art any way they want, because (2) any one one who would write such nonsense HAS to be full of it.
