Songs are meant to be interpreted for personal reasons. Any song can mean anything to anyone. To me, this song is about realizing that someone was using you all along, and they finally totally fucked you over, so you leave them behind. I think this because I relate to it, and it hapened to me. "Need me to fall down so you can climb up Some fool as a ladder, well good luck I hope, I hope there's something better up there." She wanted more, so she cheated on me, then left me. Used me then moved on. Good luck; I hope there's something better up there. |

| Alot of MM lyrics connect to other MM lyrics. Most noticeably within the same album, but big concepts seem to have been there even since Sad Sappy Sucker. "Path of least resistance" is not only a song title on that album, but a lyric as far ahead as the song "Grey Ice Water," and probably later, but I can't think of any examples now. | |

Oh, and I'm pretty sure it's "and the plants and the animals, they are land" I think so cause he says land earlier, as in you're either one of two things on earth: machines or land. Plants and animals are land, since the land goes on pretty much the same with just plants and animals. And we're not machines, we MAKE them. So I'm not sure where we stand, either. |
