It ( the chorus, not necessarily the whole song) seems to be about someone who is wary about opening up to people, maybe because of a bad experience before.The song is linked musically and lyrically to Broken, so maybe they together form the story. |

Awright... In various places, such as on youtube comments I have heard people saying that the cover is "more emotional" and "more human". But i think this song doesnt have to sound like that. it has a manic, eerie, detatched feeling to it. it is somebody out in this mad world feeling alienated, scared, isolated, even though they are surrounded by people.They are unnable to tell any of the "familiar faces". Do they actually know each other? Do they actually know more than just the tip of the ice berg about people they see svery day? no expression... they hide the tears. i think that the teacher was showing the person that they will be looked through, part of a crowd. Sometimes they cant tell others because dont know themselves what is wrong.

I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it...
I think it's about how, when somebody or something hurts you it can affect you so bad and change your life,or your way of living. It can make it it harder for you to trust people ("I can never let them into me")and the person in the song is just looking desperately for someone to make them feel better ( "Come and be a cure for me")... Just what i think. And by the way, the riff is excellent. |

I love this song... the part when he keeps repeating "Jeremy spoke in class today" is so haunting. For some reason though, I can't believe it was a hit single. Not because it's bad, but because i t is so melancholy and the subject is unusual and so sad... |
