I like this idea. Makes sense to me. I think he goes insane after she leaves. "What was i thinking when i let go of you" hence him getting meds in a dixie cup, and this also explains the change in the mood of the song as we reach the end, with all the weird sounds, and bells ringing, and the noise, and the sloppily strummed chords. |

Cancer for the cure the reverse of cure for the cancer.
The way i see it, this song is pretty much just showing how the parental figures in the story (Grandpa, mother, father) are not setting good examples for the children. They are corrupting them, hence "Cancer for the cure", the children are the cure, they have the ability to change everything, but they are being corrupted. |

after listening to this song a bunch of times, and reading a lot of the meanings other people have come up with, it came to me, that maybe its about a couple at a party. And the girl gets too drunk, and she wants to have sex, but the guy thinks its not right to go along with it considering the situation. But he likes her, and goes along with it. maybe "the fever" refers to that loss of inhibitions one experiences when drunk. Idunno, just my 2 cents. Anyway i just recently got into Brand New, and i gotta say, im glad i did. |
