Elbow – My Sad Captains Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Love this song, it reminds me of my mum, not a lot makes sense and it's just sad, and so this drinking is a perfect waste of time, being drunk is the real life, as opposed to the sober one which tends to be a struggle. |
Elbow – New York Morning Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Modern room and Yoko, interesting, will have to mull that one. |
Editors – Sugar Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I like this, I think I know what they mean, you're kind of hanging on every word this person says cos you can't relate to no other. But you know deep down she means more to you than you her. Therefore purposefully not speaking for a few days, you try to achieve what is nearly impossible - to make them realise when you're gone. Probably the best you can hope for, to leave your tiny mark. Absence and all that, it's a nice feeling. |
Eminem – My Mom Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Smart enough to know people might be sick of hearing about his Mom, but clever enough to know people love hearing him prattle on about his Mom - one of his finest stock in trades. Like the Gallagher brothers - people are fascinated by their relationship. Family conflict & Music are a great combination. |
Eminem – Legacy Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Yeah I get that thing with authority, I cannot respect it, and the indifference it shows to me, same with my peers as I grew up, if I had a talent like his I'd be doing the same thing. It's good how certain people can be differently wired up. We're not out to prove how sorted out we are. We're not out to compare ourselves, cos we were never supposed to be a 'part' of it in the first place. Now, wheres my jet pack? Just need to get out of here. |
Eminem – Headlights (feat. Nate Ruess) Lyrics | 10 years ago |
For me its about drink and drugs and medication, everything becomes a blur, and in their case - very conflicted. Headlights is a good name for the track, I would certainly say this song can hit quite close to home for many. Old habits die hard, and its about being strong for your parents when they get older, the roles can reverse. |
Eminem – So Much Better Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This is a strange one for me, who needs the meaning when this tune has got such bounce. Can imagine listening to this on the way somewhere in the morning, gets you in the mood to face things. But the lyrical content? Not what the songs about, it's a very unlikely hit for me. Very. It's like playing bloody hopskotch, feel like a Kangaroo listening to it. |
Eminem – So Far... Lyrics | 10 years ago |
'So Far' thats the Detroit motivation hes on about. It could all end tomorrow, no trade to fall back on, this is a drug. He's Ale |

1 comment I'm just gonna put this here, least this song deserves. |
Editors – Hyena Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Theres so much said in this song I even forgot the first couple of lines! Theres a country to flatten over there, we are bored and need to stretch the military legs to give ourselves something stimulating to do. Sad that the only master plan we have is to kill people in the name of ego and keeping the arms manufacturers rich etc. It's sport, not like football for us, it's their sport. The song is about how we need Sport to keep things interesting I think. |
Editors – Hyena Lyrics | 10 years ago |
WHAT a tune. With all that lies in front of us, the world looks so ridiculous to me! Hunger makes the man, aren't enough hours in the day. These are the things I think about. It's such a thought provoking tune, and a tune at that. I love the Hyena thing, I am reminded of The Lion King, I think a lot of people enjoy their LULZ on the interweb and thats where the Hyena thing comes from I reckon. Here in Western society so much lies in front of us, hunger makes the man, do a dare. We are truly domesticated, we never really earn our food and material posessions. So have a good LOL at it all, the way we live, all in the name of being civilised people. It's BORING. Not enough hours because people just wanna party, and thats our way of saying that the day has no adventure. Yeah, laugh at it all, best song I've seen in a while it really SAYS stuff, like... Glad I bought this album. |
Editors – A Ton of Love Lyrics | 10 years ago |
No comments yet? Oh dear. Well, look at these lyrics wowsers, get yer teeth into that! We're waiting for a chance of desire. Love or hate, it masquarades as summat rather deep-seated in the human psyche. If anyone can work out what 'taken by force' means that'd be good. Other than that, I think it is generally a pop at how heated we get on this little island about issues and events, all this crap is nothing and we just want a chance of a chance of a chance of..... Whatever we desire. |
Beady Eye – Three Ring Circus Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Love this, after owning the album for a while I realised this was up there with the best of them, underrated. Just listen to that powerful chorus, pure escapism! It's telling you that even though yer team might not have won today, and that it all feels the same, and yer head drops down, theres still rock n roll, and wouldn't it be great if the place so brilliantly portrayed in this song existed? This is not the extent of our culture, or it shouldn't be anyway. Like when Noel sang about slipping inside the eye of your mind... |
Beady Eye – The World's Not Set in Stone Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Tap yer foot along Noel! F*** it lets have a dance... dance with yer girl before the nights through kinda vibe. One last go before lights out. Annnnnd I'm done! As Liam said - "Have a go on that!" Take a bow son. You've earned a long break. |
Beady Eye – Start Anew Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Simplicity is great here, theres none of the choruses that Robbie is screaming out for on this album, I don't know if it would enhance this one, all I know is that on the first week - this was my favourite. Purely for reasons of impact, just like when Four Letter Word first graced my lugholes. You can almost smell a fresh minty breeze in the air when you listen to this. An ice cold beer. It's movingly done, the yeah yeah yeahs and the oh oh ohs are just epic. I feel like I'm flying when I listen to this. Your typical album closer filled with optimism. Would love it if Noel joined in when they finally bury the bloomin hatchet! What an amazing sight that would be. Cheesy though. Would never happen. |
Beady Eye – Standing on the Edge of the Noise Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Are you having a laugh? haha |
Beady Eye – Soul Love Lyrics | 11 years ago |
We are entering Liam's world, perfect track number 2, I think it;s in my top 3 faves off this album, so slick, a great little tail off at the end. The haunting slamming sound of the beats, hole punching effect. Lyrics are nice here. As someone said, The lads have opened a new door - they just have to want it! |
Beady Eye – Sons Of The Stage Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I wish they had made this a proper song. I have a rough recording of this they played it at the gig I went to. Very underrated. Akin top 'Lord don't slow me down' in that it would be great documentary music. |
Beady Eye – Ballroom Figured Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Now my spidey senses can get on with the main business of the day - the meanings! Yeah...that. For me it's about social networking. In my experience, your 'friends' become distant and the ones you don;t know as well seem more appealing. But anyway, 'light on the side' (your phone?) Hole in the wall (computer?) It's about remembering how things were before the era of Facebook, 'we got the ride of our lives' the past is irrelevant, procrastination is king, status is king. Steering through the cold light of day - cat pictures replace proper conversations. I could be well off the mark here, but the the clincher for me is about when they pass through 'It aint what you done it is what you do, lets go' Done - we post what we've done on walls. But the song argues its about what you do. Live in the now, don't live for the entertainment of how drunk you were. Or for cats. Or to write rubbish. Ultimately Liam concludes that his friend is is relying on social networking for communication, rather than picking up the phone. And in a way, he has found out who he is fake/real. Things don't pick up where they left off. Nice little acoustic song. I like how the last two lines of the song are echoey and quieter at the end, nice work there. |
Beady Eye – Soon Come Tomorrow Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Theres not many albums where the strength of the production means that I wake up every morning with a different tune in my head. Despite this being my least favourite on the album it still goes round in my head on dreary days. I listen to Beady Eye mostly for when I'm drinking but this kills the vibe. All the meaning of this seems to be given away at the end, all the plans we made, only a parrallel future to face. Could they be talking about themselves or just this country in general? |
Beady Eye – Second Bite of the Apple Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Takes a while to love this song but boy is it worth it. Robbie Williams reckons this needs a chorus, and I'm not sure, he could be right. But it does pretty well on it's own. I think it takes a while to get going, onee of the criticisms levelled at this album is the substandard of Liam's lyrics, but in this case, perhaps the lyrics are also taking up too much space, the verse in particular. But by the end it's perfect, it builds and builds and blasts off. Yeah, I agree about the lyrics. I'd love to hear this at the beginning of a pub crawl in the afternoon sometime! One for the lads! |
Beady Eye – Shine a Light Lyrics | 11 years ago |
David Sitek describes this as 'a trippy album' and it's great for those who take drugs lots apparently. This is a proper curveball in experiemntal terms. It's almost like what a black Liam would sing if he wasn't from Burnage. I almost cant listen to this cos it's just a million miles away from the Britpop nostalgia I feed off. It goes on a bit too long I think, yes I think it's probably best near the end, just let it play in the backround, funky little number, just needed to stray a bit more from it's safe beat style, although to be fair it does have an interval in the middle 'And sure enough'. |
Beady Eye – Off at the Next Exit Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Wonderful lyrics and song, this album has shown a different side to the singing of Liam. It's almost like something you'd expect Buble to play, the brass band behind him, but it's better than that, it's hidden diamonds like this that really should be discovered. It's getting a lot of love on fan forums, is this gem. |
Beady Eye – Iz Rite Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think this should be swapped with 'I'm Just Saying'. Nice little tune, so much variety in this album, familiar and experimental combined. A proper assortment. |
Beady Eye – I'm Just Saying Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Scratching your name on the wall is all about taking part in the grand scheme of it, marking your territory, having an investment in the world around you. You hear people backing off trying not to be too controversial 'I'm Just Saying' is about us offering our 2 cents, just incase anyone had forgotten the truth as they see it in their eyes. This is proper Oasis 90's nostalgia, like Face The Crowd - this is an important slice of the first album in 2011 which fans like myself enjoyed. Maybe they kept it back? This could easily be an Oasis tune, I'm glad it saw the light of day! It just seems a bit out of place near the end of this album, I would prefer if it was nearer the beginning. |
Beady Eye – Face the Crowd Lyrics | 11 years ago |
More of what we're familiar with for this band, but sometimes I wish he had kept back some of the better tunes of SGSP for this one, Bring the Light would have been good here, this is just not as strong as that. |
Beady Eye – Flick of the Finger Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I'm more of a four letter word man when it comes to album openers. But this will remain interesting for years to come. There are arguments for a chorus to enhance it but thats Noel and Robbie's thing. |
Beady Eye – Don't Brother Me Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Scheming and your crying? Yay I submitted lyrics! This is about brothers in general, it's a different type of song, don't hear many like this, love comes in different forms. It's long and for me is a way of marking the end of Oasis, and the divide that remains. |
Beady Eye – Back After the Break Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Oasis – Supersonic Lyrics | 12 years ago |
LOL that is brilliant, someones been on the wacky backy. By far the best thing I've read on here even though I'm tempted to just dismiss it as annoying. YOU DON'T CARE AND I DO!! Haha |
Coldplay – Up with the Birds Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Yeah, most albums end on a sad note but when you're Coldplay you have to relieve the gloom a bit, works in the opposite direction, see. Beautiful song, I feel myself accepting my own life situations and starting again, what's done is done. And trying so very hard to live right there in the moment. I'm making a good go of it. |
Coldplay – Major Minus Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think of the hacking by newspapers. And this Leveson Inquiry going on in 2011. |
Kasabian – Velociraptor! Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Well, least theres some lyrics here! Yep you hit the nail on the head. Sick and tired of fucking conforming, wankers and their iphones. And their facebook. |
Kasabian – Days Are Forgotten Lyrics | 12 years ago |
This site is rubbish. Seriously, be fucking ashamed of yourselves, Even the fucking lyrics have fucked off. |
Kasabian – Days Are Forgotten Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Flipping bag of bones. Ignore the vagabonds bit. But I think it's WAR not warm. |
Kasabian – Neon Noon Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Sums up Britain. Too much dreaming. A song to listen to when you're tired. |
Kasabian – Re-Wired Lyrics | 12 years ago |
No idea. But I think this is a classic, I can imagine in 20 years time listening back to this and thinking I must have had a good time rocking to this, and I don't normally think outside the present like that. Neat stuff. |
Kasabian – Let's Roll Just Like We Used To Lyrics | 12 years ago |
First off 'They're at it again' could mean anything, not sure. Love this intro though, booze and fags generation, maybe hankering for a more innocent time before it all got quite idealistic and irresponsible. It's about clarity, purity when you were young perhaps, dunno. |
Kasabian – Days Are Forgotten Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Chuffing love this, no comments yet? Now what with the video there may or may not be an Ian Curtis reference in there from the album the video recaptures. Not well-up on that musical history. "Being reborn". Silhouette being not quite all-colour, it's about coming out from the darkness once the dust has settled (now it's all over) and simply forgetting the days - these are supposedly harder times. For me this is a proper anthem, and makes me want to see them live, only really just got into them with this album. The vagabond thing, "I'm righting all your wrongs". Now, this is a fairly long shot, but he's speaking about the vagabonds and kind of wants to proclaim their message (whatever that may be) and put the rest of the world to rights. That's what I think. So a vagabond looks inside from the outside and judges, and is usually bang on the money! Is he encouraging the vagabond? To disappear? If so, why? Well I hope to find more answers in the daaayyyss to come. |
Noel Gallagher – The Death Of You And Me Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Yeah love this, the video's good, he seems a lot more peaceful. It was shot in America if I'm right, I like the idea that he's somewhere else, a break from the norm, something new, different. I'm watching my TV or is it watching me? I too can feel the storm clouds, so am loving this song. |
