this song is obviously about a past relationship. the car is a metaphor for the girlfriend who kept letting him down, taking his money, and just proving to be all-around unreliable. duh.

this is going to sound super cheesy but this song literally changed my life. i listened to it and read the lyrics and was like, "wow...my life sucks" and changed it. that is the beauty of incubus. they kick ass and so does this song. it's all about living your life the way you want to. have fun. seduce some strangers. count your blessings. just don't ever let it pass you by bc it will be your biggest regret |

i'm a little afraid to admit this, but i heard this song in "i think i love my wife" with chris rock and keri washington >< i'm ashamed to call myself a foo fighters fan now...but at least the song fit the movie pretty well (which is about a husband trying his hardest not to cheat on his wife, even though he's obviously bored and "tired" of his marriage) |

this song is pretty self-explanatory. it's about her (possibly cheating) ex-boyfriend wanting her back and her summoning her pride to resist. her voice is just so raw, it's spectacular. she really transfers her emotions when she sings. it really gives me chills with how amazing it is. i'm shocked there aren't more comments on this page!
i heard christina perri was actually a waitress. she gave a music producer or someone in the music industry a copy of this song and they loved it so much they had her record it in a studio. i could be wrong, but i think i read it on wikipedia. either way, it's great - talk about getting the last laugh on your ex! |

i agree with mothman in that the song can be interpreted as "life's too short, let's get to the sexy-time already!!" but for me, bc of the video, i just wind up thinking about cannibals and gorging myself with food. but sweet_pea is right, "a lick of the lips and my grip on your hips" IS sexy...same with "beg on a knee, baby baby please. pout your bottom lip while cracking the whip. you know what we want; it's candy to come to"
either way this song is amazing. i find the vibe sort of like a dark sexy one. and judging by the video, i think it's supposed to be that way |
