Dream Theater – Never Enough Lyrics

this is definitely about the fans that bother him...anyone who slams their albums saying they're not as good as past efforts, and anyone who sends nasty letters when he can't write back one of...probably thousands of fan letters that he gets. |

it's like the previous song on this album lyrically, except it's from the other person's point of view, who's trying to help the other |

Dream Theater – The Answer Lies Within Lyrics
| 13 years ago
|
another song by dream theater that shows off their musicianship, while delivering a clear message...life is hard, but don't let it get you down, try your hardest to make the most of each day, and look in yourself to find answers that don't seem to appear |

Dream Theater – The Root of All Evil Lyrics
| 13 years ago
|
this song is epic...and what's cool is that the lyrics are deep but they aren't hard to understand either...they're definitely about someone who's being eaten alive by the nature of his life, which has turned him into a terrible man on all levels, and he wants to break free from it, but he needs help |

this song is about the worm questioning about the beauty of heaven and being an angel, but he's told it's something he should fear, and now from all he's seen, he's strong in his belief. |

Marilyn Manson – Mister Superstar Lyrics

this song is about how people always look for inspiration from someone above them socially instead of looking for inspiration within themselves, coming to realize in the end that the famous ones are without answers, and are fucked themselves |

Marilyn Manson – Wormboy Lyrics

it's about the world being hell...and the end of the world perhaps??? perhaps its about the rise of the worm, the time when he makes everyone realize how conformist and fucked they are |

Marilyn Manson – The Beautiful People Lyrics

Alice in Chains – Black Gives Way To Blue Lyrics
| 13 years ago
|
the band's tribute to layne staley, a moment on the album where they put their guns down, and said "okay, he fucked up in his life, so now he's dead, but sitting around bitching about it won't make us feel better, so let's just remember him" |

Alice in Chains – Private Hell Lyrics
|
it's about a person shutting themselves into their own world, even though they hate it and even if it causes them pain...they feel hopeless so they don't even feel like trying to get some help....about layne staley from the band's perspective obviously |

Alice in Chains – Take Her Out Lyrics
|
i think this talks about the meaninglessness of sex with a hooker or a "booty call"...just about busting a nut to get your thrill, but it doesn't make you feel any better in your life, and she doesn't embody anything else but your booty call. |

Alice in Chains – Lesson Learned Lyrics
|
i think it's either about the downward spiral that ensues as you become more addicted to drugs, or about letting religion solve all your problems, when really, you just cling to it to make yourself feel like you've got a solution. |

Alice in Chains – Acid Bubble Lyrics

i think this is about an ending relationship where one ostracizes the other because the other acted out so much and the one that cut the ties got tired of putting up with them. |

Alice in Chains – When the Sun Rose Again Lyrics

it's about eventually always having your demons uncovered unless you do something about them and that whenever you see a light, to always run to it instead of hiding in the dark. |

Alice in Chains – A Looking in View Lyrics
| 13 years ago
|
i think personally for the band, this was about the time when layne dived deeper into his drug dependancy, and instead of reaching out to his band members/friends for help, he shut them out of his life and didn't listen to them, and acted in a way that hurt them...you could apply this to any of your friends that have ever shut you out before. |

Alice in Chains – Your Decision Lyrics
|
i think this song is the band letting go of any guilt they had for layne's death, and coming to the conclusion that he was responsible for everything that happened to him...i don't think any of us should pay attention to what the lyrics are about as it applies to the alice in chains members anyways, we should look at it from a more personal perspective. i think that's another purpose for their lyrics besides them exorcising their own demons, but to also connect with their fans. if i was connecting this song to my life, i would say it's just about making the right choices and thinking of others when you do. it could be choices that relate to anything, not just drugs |

Alice in Chains – Last of My Kind Lyrics
|
i think this song is a sting at religion for how the church ostracizes anyone who isn't amongst their ranks, while ignoring that we are poor, starving, and in pain, yet preaching that giving a helping hand to people in those circumstances is the right thing to do...i guess they leave that up to Jesus eh? |

Alice in Chains – Check My Brain Lyrics

this for anybody could be a song about moving on from a darker time of drug dependancy, but for jerry cantrell, it's about his move from seattle to la...check my brain is in reference to all the drugs he's done in the past...nowadays he's clean. |

Alice in Chains – Would? Lyrics

damn straight...i think that's the point of lyrics anyways...you're not supposed to find the reason that the person wrote the song themselves, you're supposed to apply your own meaning to the lyrics...you hit the nail right on the head there |

Alice in Chains – Sickman Lyrics

a very self-loathing song...the lyrics talk about not caring about dying soon because they hate the world anyways, while he deals with his heroin addiction, like he's in some kind of daze (i can feel the wheel but i can't steer), he doesn't have a strong hold on his life...how sad |

Alice in Chains – Dam That River Lyrics

the chorus almost sounds like a reference to drugs "couldn't dam that river" sounds like he's talking about taking heroin...but the lyrics in the verse depict fighting...and i've read that it was about a fight between jerry and sean...i'm kinda confused about the meaning of these lyrics, particularly the chorus, could someone enlighten me? thanks |
