The Jackson 5 – Goin' Places Lyrics 13 years ago
I'm pretty sure it's "Climbing so high up to forty thousand feet."

Michael Jackson – Gone Too Soon Lyrics 13 years ago
Spike 1981 is correct, and Michael Jackson didn't write "Gone Too Soon." It was written and composed by Larry Grossman and Buz Kohan.

Michael Jackson – Earth Song Lyrics 13 years ago
Not all Christians condemn questioning God. Some encourage it: not in a disrespectful way, but how strong can an unexamined faith be? Many of the prophets and disciples questioned God, and even Jesus did. I would consider this song a lamentation in which Michael is crying out to God to rescue the earth, while at the same time languishing over humanity's guilt in destroying the planet and each other. By using first person pronouns (we, us), Michael includes himself among the guilty. He didn't point fingers by saying you or they are destroying the earth. He said we are destroying it. I think he was very much aware of how we are all somewhat responsible for environmental destruction, and how the earth's undoing is spiraling out of control, but sometimes we don't even care, and even when we do care, the problems are so overwhelming that we often find ourselves feeling helpless to do anything to change things for the better. So we are left crying to God to save us from our own destruction. I love this song, along with many of Michael's others, because it shares a powerful message through the lyrics themselves, Michael's dramatically fitting delivery of them, and all of the moving instrumentation.

Michael Jackson – Hold My Hand Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is beautiful in both its music and its words. Pachelbel's Canon in D Major has always touched my soul in a special way. It somehow makes me feel more closely connected to God and all of creation. Sometimes it makes me cry simply because it is so beautiful that I am overwhelmed in a good way. Several of Michael Jackson's songs have the same effect on me. This song uses a variation on the theme of Pachelbel's Canon as its foundation, and the result is indescribably beautiful! Add in the lyrics that poetically depict our inherent need to live in communion with others, and it's right up there with the most beautiful music I've ever heard (e.g., Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, The Beatles' In My Life, John Lennon's Imagine, MJ's Will You Be There?)!

Michael Jackson – Black or White Lyrics 14 years ago
Thanks for putting in the time and effort to write that analysis. You've verbalized the concepts that song has always evoked in my mind (that I so badly struggle to describe in words) far better than I could. It's also nice to know that someone else appreciates the song for the same reasons I do.

Michael Jackson – Will You Be There Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm pretty sure by faithful, he meant full of faith and never giving up even in the hardest times; not a reference to being faithful in a relationship. You may disagree, but in my mind, when I consider "a man should be faithful" along with "and walk when not able," as well as, "and fight 'til the end, but I'm only human," together it seems to refer to never losing hope or giving up, rather than cheating on someone.
