She also references fab five freddy (A popular rapper at the time), "And you hip hop And you don't stop", etc. Contrary to popular belief however, this wasn't the first popular rap song. It was the first to go number 1, but "Rappers Delight" by Sugarhill gang came out a year earlier and was popular as well. |
