Lights – Siberia Lyrics 11 years ago
This song seems to be an innocent, youthful melody about getting away- somewhere, anywhere- with a loved one forever. It's got some wanderlust too- they want to explore everything before they happen upon a place to settle down.

The deep meaning revealed by your lyrical analysis is even more beautiful than the song itself. You are a gentleman and a scholar, my friend.

Switchfoot – This Is Home Lyrics 13 years ago
Switchfoot has Christian leanings and themes, and the members of themselves are definitely Christian, but their music is not and should not be put into the category of "Christian music" as we traditionally know it.

Here's an excerpt from Foreman about this that was seen in an interview with the Boston Globe (http://web.archive.org/web/20050123135046/http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles/2004/01/09/switchfoot_steps_toward_stardom?mode=PF):

"As for the Christian leanings of the band, he [Jon Foreman] says, 'For us, it's a faith, not a genre. We've always been very open and honest about where the songs are coming from. For us, these songs are for everyone. Calling us "Christian rock" tends to be a box that closes some people out and excludes them. And that's not what we're trying to do. Music has always opened my mind -- and that's what we want.'"

All that said, while I personally am not Christian, I certainly can see how your interpretation fits.

Taio Cruz – Dynamite Lyrics 13 years ago
I think you guys are giving this song way more flak than it deserves.

Dynamite doesn't aim to be the next anthem of the oppressed youth, nor is it supposed to be some sort of deep revelatory exploratin of the human psyche. It doesn't even aim to be groundbreaking, or original, or any of those other buzzwords that some of you seem to love oh-so-much.

What Dynamite sets out to be (and indeed, succeeds in being) is an unapologetically catchy and danceable summer party song (look at when it was released as a single- May). And in my opinion, it pulls that role off with aplomb.

Parachute – All That I Am Lyrics 13 years ago
I'm getting a sense from this song that there's this girl who is a close friend of the singer, and she's alone in a new place (a new city, perhaps), but she's feeling lost and therefore nostalgic for home.

Travie McCoy – Billionaire Lyrics 13 years ago
I think it's actually very realistic/pragmatic to want money. Money makes the world go around as they say, and while it can't buy happiness, money has the power to do many, many other things, some of which can lead to happiness, or at least less sadness.

Train – This Ain't Goodbye Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, it's not about a love that never happened, but one that fell apart. Simple as that.

Tim Be Told – Analyze Lyrics 13 years ago
To me, this song represents a plea from a friend to another in a search for personal identity. Bad times have left the singer unsure of himself and his place, as he asks his friend to "tell me who I am". He wants those bad times to be over, and doesn't care how- he just wants them gone.

Switchfoot – Needle and Haystack Life Lyrics 14 years ago
Personally, I feel that this song is about being caught up in a blossoming love, epitomized by: "You're a needle girl
In a haystack world
We are right now"

It references living in the present repeatedly ( "We are right now." "...we're here tonight." etc.), reflecting that feeling of when you just want to stop time and be with that special person.

Of course, in classic Switchfoot style, it could also simply be about not taking any moment for granted and simply enjoying every moment of the journey of life ("You breathe it in- the highs and lows. We call it living.")

Lovely song.
