It brings all my melancholy and sadness and depression to the forefront of my mind, and then the opening of "Her Voice Resides" releases them in a raging torrent. i think its more a satire on how the US government has taken away freedoms in the name of saving its citizens. "I'll be the one to protect you from ... Isolate and save you from yourself" if taken as said from the government (which the government has alread pretty much). of course, maynard's lyrics in both tool and apc are very vague and open to interpertation, and yours is right because you came up with it. |

i think the general consensus on the political meaning is correct, the lyrics and music video are trying to show how the government (at the moment bush and the GOP) are brainwashing the general public into becoming sheep. i think that the reason theres the porn sounds in the backround is to reiterate that the government is fucking us over. |

| ummm... methinks not. im pretty sure its a warning about the people with anger managment issues (the music video helps with this conclusion). "Seeing red" is used to symbolize intense anger and loss of control and the warning part is that "the threat is real". also its probably got something to do specifically with people that are isolated due to bullying or similar ("they say freak when you're singled out"). | |
