LOL who the hell thought this was about domestic violence or abuse or something shit? Seriously, what? Haha. This is exactly my kind of relationship. Teasing, tormenting, criticizing and just being mean to my sweetheart... I can't help it, it's just how I love someone. (I also shower them with kisses, of course. with fists.) I discovered it from Jennifer's Body (hated the movie, but the soundtrack is so good, I'm thinking of buying the CD), and just... fell in love. One of my favorite songs ever. Oh and her performance is just perfect. I love her voice and the way she sings just fits these lyrics. |

Actually, the "happiness-is-coming-everyone-yaaay-!" comments kind of confused me. Not that it's stupid to think that, I just never thought of the song that way, even though it's a nice image, it's still... it still doesn't add up. Then again... moople does have a point. The "dog days" were believed to be evil days, "when the seas boiled, wine turned sour, dogs grew mad, and all creatures became languid, causing to man burning fevers, hysterics, and phrensies" (thank you, Wikipedia!). But your line of thought, seebee, is great. Although I don't really really agree with thinking of the song the same way, it certainly is something new and a lovely way to think of the song. I applaud you! |

I agree with EsseQuamVideri, it makes much more sense to me than rape. I think it's about a very high class, arrogant boy who wanted to change and twist with her personality, but she's just like, "fuck off dude". He wants her to shut up and behave but she's telling him that she's not the weakest girl around, so he should go find some other little bitch to control. The things I don't understand are, well, what did happen the day she turned seventeen? Did she realize all this? Was she putting up with him up until that day? Also, "the rise of the king and the fall of the queen,"... I actually like that line, but can't understand how it fits in with the song. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? I know I'm missing something here. |
