Yep. As the poster above said, it's about heroin addiction. This album, "The Headless Children", was an album about different social situations. It was totally different than the first three albums, which were all just songs without any real meaning. This is one of the best W.A.S.P. albums ever! Blackie really made a masterpiece here! |

Maybe she is beautiful and he is not that good looking. Maybe she is rich and he is not. He is saying that they're both human, with the same wants, needs, and desires in life. They have the same basic functions. They laugh, they love, they hope, they try, they feel, they need, they fear, they cry, they can be together, if she would give him a chance. It turns out that she realized he was right. This doesn't happen all the time in life. A guy who doesn't look hot, while the woman does, doesn't often find love with her. A guy who is possibly poor or middle class doesn't usually hook up with a rich girl. Maybe an inspirational song to some, but it doesn't usually work out. It tries, though! One of those sweet songs that say "hey, if you get right down to it, everyone is the same, and we can be together." It's got a positive message, but like i said, the below-average looking guy doesn't usually get the hot chick, and the lower-class fellow doesn't usually find love with the ritzy chicks. Still, a nice song. |

When he asks to see her again, she says, "we'll see". Maybe that's not the answer he wanted to hear. He wanted to hear "yes!" Then he sang, "God, this learning to live again is killing me!" |

This song is about the environment, and how it always seems to get screwed up, either by us humans, or by some natural disaster. It always seems to affect wildlife, as well as marine life. It's truly sad. It's not going to stop, either. We're headed towards an environmental decline which will put our future, and the future of our decendants in plenty of trouble. We try to improve things, by having Earth Day, and organizations like Greenpeace, but it's not good enough. The BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico a few years ago was a picnic compared to what's in store for this planet. |

I think this song is about nuclear war. I think the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was codenamed "Little Boy", because witnesses said that only one plane was in the sky, and there weren't a bunch of them ready to carpet bomb the city. They didn't think it was going to drop the first ever nuclear bomb and vaporize Hiroshima, but that's what happened. Let's hope someday we will never see a city in ruins from a nuke again. |

From what i read in an interview many years ago, when "State of Euphoria" first came out, Scott Ian said that this song is about comedian Sam Kinison. That's why you hear his maniacal laughter in the song. I guess maybe Sam and Scott or another member or members of the band got into a confrontation, and hence the writing of the song. Or maybe they just had other issues with Sam that were personal.

It was one of the first Beatles song i've ever heard growing up in the late 60's, when "Abbey Road" first came out. I believe "Hey Jude" was the first Beatles song i ever heard. We had the 45, and Hey Jude was the full green apple, and the other side was the apple cut in half, with "Revolution 1" on it.

ONE of my favorite all-time Beatles tunes! From what i read, John didn't like this song, and called it "One of Paul's Granny tunes" Whatever that means! John supposedly refused to be a part of it's recording, but if you watch any of the youtube videos of this song, where they are doing rehearsals, John is seen nodding his head to the beat. Sooo....Makes you wonder what the truth is. Did John like this song? Did he hate it?

Sounds like "The Number of the Beast", where he saw a coven of satanic witches performing a black mass out in the woods, maybe even a human sacrifice. That would really chill the bones! If anyone remembers the movie "Race With the Devil", it showed that very event. Spooky movie from the 70's.

Sounds like this might be a song denying God's existance. The lyrics in the chorus are "There will be zero tolerance/for the creator of hallowed intentions/There will be zero tolerance/fate is your deciding God."
In other words, perhaps Chuck is saying that God doesn't exist, and fate, where you end up after you die, is the only one that matters. The lyrics are kinda cryptic, as in most songs on here. That's why this website has been created, to interpret the song's meaning.

There are some great interpretations of this song in the above users' posts. Like SASR, I believe it has to do with the flesh, as in sex! People wanna "live the flesh", as in get it on with so-n-so. Once you start messing with someone sexually, a can of worms can open up. You can get a disease, for example. We are drawn in by such a great, euphoric feeling, and then we are spit out, when we get a disease, or we all of a sudden have to take care of a kid for 18 years that we're not ready for. This is one of the greatest songs Chuck has ever written. The solo in the midsection of the song is pure genius, as only Chuck Schuldiner could pull that off. He got a loud cheer for that solo in the live version of this song from the Eindhoven concert he did soon before he passed on, as seen on Youtube. Check it out!

Probably has to do with having split personalities. OR it could, as someone above said, have to do with the Holy Trinity. As we seen on the album "Symbolic", Chuck wrote the song "Crystal Mountain" about frustrations with Christianity. Perhaps this was also frustrations with Christianity. Chuck was Jewish, and didn't adhere to the New Testament, only the Torah.

Many people frown on organized religion. They wanna worship God the way they wanna, without dogma getting in the way. That's probably why Chuck wrote the song. Chuck was Jewish, and i'm sure he had belief in God, but not in the way a Christian has. Christians believe their purpose being on earth is to be a witness, to convert others to Christianity. Jewish people don't believe in that. They don't "convert" people. Maybe it was just Chuck's frustration with Christianity, perhaps being told by someone that "Jesus is THE ONLY WAY" to Heaven. Jewish people are supposedly God's chosen people, and believe they are already going there when they die.
Something that needs to be pointed out is that Chuck never wrote satanic lyrics most other death bands adhered to. On one of the videos of Death in concert on Youtube, someone from some death metal band, MOST LIKELY a satanic one, said Death wasn't real death metal. He said "yeah, i guess we're fcking disco, huh?" |

He is the better man when he just lets it roll off his back. Humans can be the most evil beings on the planet. This song is definitely a great one, as it deals with privacy issues, and more destruction of our constitutional freedoms by the government. Big brother is watching, but with more sophisticated technology than ever imagined. I don't think Chuck meant for just 500 people to be watching. There's more than that! The chorus of "Living in the pupil of 1000 eyes" is played with such blazing speed! I think the whole "Symbolic" album was Death's best band lineup ever! |
