Goldfrapp – Ooh La La Lyrics 13 years ago
This song is TOTALLY about a vibrator. Only a few lines don't fit perfectly.

Dial up my number now
Weaving it through the wire
-I originally figured this was a phone number, but things besides phones have numbers and dials and wires.

Switch me on, turn me up
-No interpretation necessary

Don't want it baudelaire
Just glitter lust
Switch me on, turn me up
I want to touch you you're just
Made for love
-Another easy interpretation, the last three lines.

I need la la la la la
I need ooo la la la la
Calls up and round me
Teasing your poetry
Switch me on, turn me up
Oh child of venus you're just
Made for love
You know I walk for days
I wanna waste some time
-Loses me for a bit in the middle, but the vibrator thing is back with "I wanna waste some time"

You wanna be so mean
You know I love to watch
-Watching some materials? Even the mean line fits pretty well.

I wanna love some more
I'll never be the same
A broken heel like a heart
I'll never walk again
-From the sound of these lines, it worked.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor – The Dead Flag Blues Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song is about the atomic bomb. One of the most telling lines in my mind is "The sun has fallen down." Considering how powerful the atomic bomb is and how closely related it is to the sun, the first atomic bombs could easily be interpreted as the sun falling to the earth. The buildings tumbling in on themselves and mothers clutching their babies are obvious consequences of a bombing. The next line is about them pulling out their hair - this could be either an immediate reaction to unbearable stress, wondering where loved ones are after a disaster such as a nuclear strike or it could be an offhand mention of radiation poisoning. The narrator says that these truly are the end of days, then says that he falls into a daydream, which maybe is the relative peace of the post-war years. He later snaps out of it and realizes things are even worse (maybe referring to when the soviets got nukes also?) and feels validated that this really is the valley of death.

Evil Nine – They Live! Lyrics 14 years ago
Based on the cover art I thought this was a typical zombie fare. After watching the music video it seems to be about the living zombies that actually exist. People who walk around and lie and love and live, then fall, cry, fail and die.

Bangin the ex. Never heard it put into song form so well, though.

Evil Nine – The Wait Lyrics 14 years ago
This is a catchy song. I'm no good at interpreting song meanings but I think this one is about making a blind leap towards (hopefully) better conditions. Maybe getting caught while the things you wish to hide are out of your control.
