The Weeknd – Wicked Games Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"tell me you love me, even though you don't love me" There's a lot of obvious drug references in this song and partying possibly being with a stripper ("let me see that ass, look at all this cash" and "I love to watch you dance".) My take on it, is this guy met a stripper after he broke it off with his girl and is using it as an opportunity to be comforted by her because he's lonely. He knows that this girl doesn't care about him and he's not just paying her to dance for him but he also wants to feel a human connection. He wants to feel loved whether it be real or fake. |

Refers to drugs that don't have a scent. Probably cocaine, ecstasy, or prescription meds. |

"But your love ain't free no more" It's about falling in love with a woman who sells her love in one form or another. Could be turning a trick, stripping, or hustling to get tips and all that comes with that. She's beautiful and he loves her but he knows she's paid to show love to others. Great music video too. |

these are the lyrics in the CD cover: Lucy's underground she's got a mouth to feed Am I underground or am I in between Lucy's underground she's got a mouse to feed Am I underground or am I in too deep Show me love you've got your hand on the button now sure enough you've got your hand on the button now Lucy's underground she's never coming back Am I still alive or has the light gone black Take me underground take me all the way bring me to the fire throw me in the flames So show me love you've got your hands on the button now sure enough you've got your hands on the button now I'd rather die I'd rather die than to be with you |

I think this song has to do with being on tour and the whole rock lifestyle. He's on the road and women (the "whores" he mentions) are coming on to him. Although he gives in to the temptation he has a deep connection to the woman he loves back home. Despite his infidelities he knows he's "chained" to only one and feels he couldn't live without her. Anyone catch this song in the seth rogan movie "zack and miri make a porno?" Kinda the same theme in the scene- being torn between temptation and love. |
