While I like you're meaning for the song, I have to say I disagree. At first I thought it was something like what you said but now I'm not so sure. I think this is a song about losing someone who you still love. In the beginning of the song she is clearly saying how she is in love with someone and will always have feelings for this person. "What rushes into my heart and my skull I can’t control" She can't help who she loves no matter what happens. She has no control over her heart and can't get this person out of her mind. "You're slowly letting me go, I know this feeling oh so" Is her realization that she is losing this person. She seen it before and even thou she tries to hide it, she knows deep down this person is leaving her. "left hook" and "You got dead aim" is the shock of her loved one finally leaving. She didn't see it coming, it was unexpected. "tell me you are here to stay" is basically her saying "please tell me I'm wrong and you will always be here" "I take my heart out of my chest I just don't need it anymore, take my head out of the game I just don't need it anymore" She is so hurt and now has a broken heart (which is why she don't need it, you don't need something broken). Head out of the game is her way of saying she can't handle loving and losing someone again. That's my idea of what this song means. It's still a great song even if it's kinda sad. |
