Blue Öyster Cult – Astronomy Lyrics

Just wanted to say that the Imaginos (album) version of this song is incredible - one of my favourite songs of all time - in the top 3 along with DT's Learning To Live and Opeth's Ghost of Perdition.
Put headphones on, close eyes - bliss.
I like how the same song has essentially three kickass version: Secret Treaties, Imaginos and (yes, here it comes) the Metallica version - all kick ass, all different. |

@[kevwiz:20055] Actually, they did perform Astronomy (the Imaginos version - one of my top 5 songs of all time) live - there's a blurry video of it online on YT.
I'm seeing this comment was almost a decade ago, and you probably must have found some live versions for other songs, but just in case :) |

By the way, if you like this song as much as I do, then you'll love this little 'clip' of it played live under the name 'Is Not' - from the Coma Divine-Live in Rome (extended) album. A lot of hunting led me to that :D

What a hidden gem this is. What feel! One of my favourite PT songs of all time. No clue what Cloud Zero could mean - I close my eyes and imagine clouds moving across the sky. |

In my opinion, the best of Korpiklaani's instrumentals. Beautiful amalgamation of traditional Finnish music and heavy metal \m/ |

Rush – By-tor And The Snow Dog Lyrics

I just love the way Alex's guitar feels like part of the story, and not just a traditional guitar solo. Adds so much atmosphere to the whole setting - his squeaks and squeals definitely won't place in a 'Top guitar solos' list (where Mr. Cobain's SLTS comes in at #21, of course), but what an effect it creates for the By-Tor vs Snow-Dog fight scene! |

32 seconds into the song, and Neil Peart has established that he effing means business. |

I just love the way the synth bit just jumps out from nowhere and kicks you at 2:19. Perfect buildup to BOC's greatest ever song, Astronomy.
And I agree - heroin use. Trinity = coke, needle, mind? |

One of the heaviest they've written. The way that solo comes in - very nice. Their initial manager wanted them to be an American Black Sabbath, and on this track they definitely achieved that. |

Does the main 'riff' remind anyone of the line 'Nowhere man, please listen' by The Beatles? :-) |

Rush – Vital Signs Lyrics

I was bored once and a friend recommended Rush. Didn't know where to start, there were just too many songs... So went off to a live album and landed on this song. Ever since, I've been hooked - to this song. For some reason, none of the other Rush songs give me the, uhm, rush that this song does. Not even 2112. Not even Tom Sawyer. Everything is perfect - Geddy's singing and basswork, the synth, and those little fills by Peart.
The highlight of the song is 02:40 - the small silence before a sexy 2-second roll by Peart and Geddy going off into 'Tired mind...'
Rock on, Rush.
Sorry for the lack of contribution to the discussion, I just wanted to let my feelings about the song known :) |

Surely, one of the greatest acoustic guitar solos of all time, along with Bron-Y-Aur and Spanish Fly. Wow. |

Damn.
What a song, though. Amazing way to end a killer album. |

Lovely song, but the fact that this is the first song of an album called BROTHERS in arms is just plain disturbing :P |

Quite a semi-offensive, silly song in an otherwise remarkable album. Reminds me of 'Little Girl' by the Beatles, which was a meh ending to a great album. |

The quite incredible bass adds to the 'outer space' effect if you know what I mean. Nice and liquidy. Amazing work by Geezer. |

Creedence Clearwater Revival – Keep On Chooglin' Lyrics

What a fun song! And certainly one of their most iconic.
I read on AOL Questions that chooglin' is a euphemism for bonking. Truth in the statement? It's also present in the lyrics of 'Born on the Bayou' and it seems to fit! |

Agreed. The part where the bass kicks in truly makes you feel that every penny (paisa, in my case) spent on that expensive speaker set was worth it. |
