I can see how you can easily mistake this song to be about people being in love, but that's definitely not what this song is about. I'm not sure if you knew Switchfoot was a Christian band (I myself didn't know that until I become a christian about 5 years ago and had been listening to Switchfoot for years before that), but this song is all about the feeling one gets when it comes to the power of God, the LOVE of God! It is a powerful feeling. However, I can see how you may have interpretted it differently. |

I personally think this song could stand for any number of things. Love itself could be what he is actually referring to or he could be speaking to a loved one such as a girlfriend or even his mother, sister or grandmother. Just someone who has loved him and shown him love and been there through all the hardest times in his life. And btw... the line is "and when that world slows down, dear". |

This song isn't just about death, it's about a guy who has fallen in love or even possibly who has a friend that he will always be there for. I love this song... probably one of my favorite Death Cab songs ever. Chase Coy also does a beautiful cover of this song. |

I can never express enough how much I absolutely love Jason Reeves. His music is beautiful. This song is pretty much self explanitory though. It isn't much more difficult than that he is thinking about a former love and wishing he were with her again and he has decided that he will get her back no matter what it takes, if its the only thing he does because he wont ever get over her. I am thinking that the second verse is supposed to be a sign that she wants him back too because its a letter saying that shes never going to get over him. I THINK thats what it means but I am not sure. A slight correction in Lyrics though because it is "of all the lovers found and lost and never seen again.. you're the only one that runs repeating through my head". Other than that, this song is definitely one of my major favorites and I love Jason Reeves... as I said before. |
