they do dedicate this song to the military, but it was written about Jesus and how he saved us just like soldiers are saving us today. There is a correlation. |

Do you really think that someone's gonna stand there saying, "I don't deserve this, this time right now, it's not something for which I can take a bow, I don't deserve this, it wasn't me, I can't take glory for something that i can't be" AFTER they were RAPED????! really, let's be serious. how in any way, shape or form is being raped something she should be "glorified" for??? |

see how it's "He" with a capital "H." Yea, that's because it's about God. IdK if maybe other songs aren't about God, but this one certainly is! "I know what perfection is like, and i cannot stand before it's might." Perfection = God and there's no way she can be remotely compared to Him. I think this is about how she/they get all this praise for writing such amazing songs but in actuality, it's all because of the Lord who made them this way. He called them to do this. It's a worship song giving credit to the one who does deserve it, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. |

Flyleaf – So I Thought Lyrics

This song absolutely helped save my life! I am IN LOVE with this song. And all you said is totally true. I also think the part where it says, "And I'm praying that we will see something there in between," is about Jesus ant how He is our light and path to heaven. He is the sole connection we have with our God and He was on earth to help us see that. HE is between us and Heaven/God. |

I this the "life on earth," part is about how our bodies and lives on earth are only temporary and that God has a plan and has had a plan since we were conceived. Also, The "and prove to be a only a breath, a mist, a womb for whats to come.." is aboue how life on earth is only a test and depending how we live it and if we follow Jesus our Savior, we will find eternity with Him in heaven ("How soon FOREVER arrives.") The only thing that is "forever" is heaven. |

Flyleaf – Much Like Falling Lyrics

I know it sounds corny and everyone says this, but this song truly helped save my life along with "So I Thought."
The first part of the song, i would listen to when i was soo incredibly depressed and remember relating so much
to it but not being able to comprehend the second part "feels so much like falling, separated from the fear.."
I just didn't believe and then all of a sudden one day, i literally went to church, repented after 10 years of not and that all changed. I'm so grateful for that amazing understanding now. my life is so bright now :) |

Like unsamani said above, Lacey said they are christians and that is the central focus of their lives. Their faith can't help but have an influence on their songs and lyrics. Especially on Memento Mori, almost EVERY song of that album has a christian conotation to it. So, I would think it's appropriate to say that this song has a christian meaning as well.
"I found something sweet
On the island with the daughters of Eve."..
Eve, biblical figure who is one of the most noted for being a sinner and falling into temptation. Meaning, dwelling in indulgences and living as a sinner keeps you caged and eventually heartbroken in the end when it's all gone and there is no pleasure anymore. There is no one to turn to, and what's left is to turn your heart to God which enables you to live freely, not depending on indulgences and fake promises. |
