I feel like this song is talking about that one person, whether it's a missed chance or not doesn't really matter. It's like when you feel such a connection with someone and when you're away from them, you try to compensate, try to get the "pretty girls" because that's what we aim for. However, you can never shake the feeling of how much that person meant to you. He states all the "quirks" or "imperfections" in the other person that he has fallen in love with. Her 80's style, her boots and long hair. All of these he has come to love and he can't get her out of his head no matter what. |

It's a cycle, I happen to have depression cycles just like this and I can really relate. The beginning is kind of the pessimistic stage, the stage where you just want to give up, at the end of this stage is when you can finally restart again. Then he reaches his peak, he feels alive and like he can do anything. But unfortunately he reaches his pessimistic side again, and once again has to start over It's actually a brilliant arrangement of lyrics, good stuff |

I feel that it's about the past. The "ghosts" and "dead hearts" are the dreams, people and even your old self. "They were kids that i once knew... Now they're all dead hearts to you" - seems to be a loss of childhood, or innocence that you once had that you long for again. They are dead because that old you no longer exeist <3 this song |
