Damn, that little music stop after the first line of each verse is awesome.

Coldplay – See You Soon Lyrics 12 years ago
I'd always loved this song, but it never spoke to me until just recently. One morning, I woke up very depressed, and in particular, anxious about my relationship with my girlfriend. I was afraid she didn't share the same feelings I had for her, and that I would have to have a difficult conversation with her in which we might end up breaking up. I was very nervous and sad, but I knew I had to do it.

I got into the car and put on my iPod. I live very close to my school, so there's only time for one song in the morning. I chose this one, hoping it would comfort me, and as the music began I thought about my situation. Then, suddenly, I understood. I had lost my trust, my trust in her, my trust in myself, my trust in my relationship. I wasn't with her because I expected her to always want to hold my hand, or only want to talk to me. I was with her because I wanted a friend, a good friend to be sure, but a friend, and that's all I needed to worry about. So I had lost my trust, but I never should have. The feelings of doubt were snapping at my heels, but I didn't need to worry-- I'd see her soon, and I did, and I remembered how much I loved her and how much she loved me, and I was happy.

Beautiful.

Death Cab for Cutie – Tiny Vessels Lyrics 12 years ago
This song always reminds me of a certain ex-girlfriend, because it is almost exactly what happened between us... and it breaks my heart.

Bon Iver – Wisconsin Lyrics 12 years ago
I really feel like this song has a Springsteen or Arcade Fire influence to it-- especially every line that comes right before a "love is love's ___" line. The whole song feels so powerful in a more traditional songlike way (unlike other Bon Iver songs, equally powerful but it a different manner), with its clear-cut choruses and verses and such, but with a special Vernon influence. It's such a beautiful song and I really love it so much.

Death Cab for Cutie – Portable Television Lyrics 13 years ago
Um, that might be "PORTABLE television, not "BORED OF OLD television"... you know, like the title of the song.

Arcade Fire – Half Light II (No Celebration) Lyrics 13 years ago
I LOVE this song. This is a sort of finale to the first half of the album-- on the first listen, before I looked at the track list, I thought it was the end. I don't have much to add on the meaning side of things, but I do think this is amazing.

Death Cab for Cutie – Passenger Seat Lyrics 14 years ago
It does sound to me like a young boy talking about a car ride with his mother. The way he is relaxed on the dash, wondering about the vast workings of the universe while smelling the deep earthly scents of the pines and firs surrounding him make him seem innocent and young. He seems like he has the common defense-of-mother mentality in the end, knowing he will always be there for her. I personally love this song, and if someone can get me some sheet music, it would be wonderful.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Desert Song Lyrics 14 years ago
I would think it'd be "the devil's son," since it's all about his father etc. But if the offish lyrics say "sun," I can't argue with that.

Coldplay – Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground Lyrics 14 years ago
It does sound quite a bit like Til Kingdom Come; they're both in C Major, and therefore use many of the same notes and progressions...

I think it sounds less like "inevitable death" and more like he's committing suicide. To me, it sounds like he's tired of this world and all its problems, and wants to move on to the next.
