best song on the new album. i know a lot of people hate nickelback (inculding my mother) because of all their raunchy lyrics. but after putting out songs like this how is it possible to hate them? i've listened to this song so many times in a row i've lost count. no one can hate this song and still be a human being. |

yeah they just like to put in references to the real world. i can't remember which album this was in (might have been endgame) but there was a quote from picasso that made me want to cry (or rearrange my life a little bit). that's the thing about rise against. it's not just random noises, lyrics about sex and wailing into a microphone (though that music is badass) they look around our world, seeing how screwed up it is and then writing this souls into this music. they are a great band. the references to the books and movies probably relate to some topics they touch in their songs or just things people should know about our world. |

this song and these lyrics are beautiful in everyway. i love rise against. i love how they can create such beautiful music and then write lyrics that fit the song like two puzzle pieces. this song is one of my absoulte favourites of all thime.
the gist of the song is there a boyfriend and a girlfriend in a fake relationship. The girl thinks that everything about them is perfect while the boyfriend feels like everything in the relationship is done by him and him alone. he has to pretend like everything is alright.

so then he feels like everything in this relationship is on repeat. everything they've done feels like deja vu over and over again. So then he stops suddenly and without planning he breaks up with her. She asks him why and even though he can't think of a reason why he knows deep down he can't fake his life with her anymore. Though he isn't giving up, he's just letting her go.

sorry to burst everyone's bubble but i'm going to disagree about the love story thing. i really think this is a song about addiction. hey, it could swing either way but this whole album was basically written when adam gontier was in rehab. it still could be about love but i wanted to put something else out there. |

i love the fast tempo of this song. i agree with the last two comments about the teenagers running away just doing whatever the hell they feel like. just roadtripping anywhere, eating when they want and staying up all night to watch the sun come up and just feeling like your on top of the world.

even though i'm a girl and (seriously if any guy treats a girl like this what the hell?) i have to agree with this song. every girl wants this perfect handsome sweet guy but it's the badass idiots that get every girl going. every girl wants a gentlemen but it's always going to be the bastards that treat them like crap that they'll chase and never feel complete without. i really hope i do find that "gentlemen" but seriously, more girls fall for the idiot stuff guys pull.

i found their "go green, eat no meat" thing in the sleeve of my cd (though i can't, i live on a farm, have to eat meat or i'd starve)

i'm christen too, and really, if God doesn't wants gays in heaven then i guess i don't want to go to heaven either.
really, is God going to discrimate against people who love the same sex? really? God going to hate certain people for being a certain way.
AND where exactly in the bible does it say that homosexuality is a sin? find me the exact chapter and exact verse and i'll say i was wrong but i won't discriminate my own people.
seriously man, just because somewhere in the bible it says God hates homos doesn't mean i'm going to stop being christen or starting hating gays. the bible is just a book written by people. no one understands God and if people want to believe that God doesn't feel that way about things, then it doesn't mean you stop being christen.

i love this song but i'm finding it really hard to get into the album itself. it has a lot of scream-singing and some songs are really loud (vocal wise). it's not that i'm not a fan of loud music but i have to draw a line somewhere. if people are screaming-singing for most of the song it's a dealbreaker. i did enjoy "ain't no rest for the wicked" on the original album and i do like some songs on this one but some of their songs are too loud and some just don't flow right. but i'll have to listen to their next album to see if they take a different approach next time around. |

one of my favourite 3DG songs of all time. probably the best one on the album. i think it's about the singer's friend whose addicted to drugs and has troubling quitting. "i hate to see you fall down." refering to his friend. "you ask me, how to carry on". the singer tries to convince his friend that his life isn't over just because he's quit drugs. this is probably my favourite song on the whole album. |

this song is so sweet and so sad and makes me want to throw up when you really think of how a kid would give up his whole life because of what people said. my younger broter wanted to kill himself once because people bullied him. i wanted to kill those kids! he's okay now though. this song makes me cry and one of my favourite billy talent songs! even though their kind of a punk rock band they look to the world around them and write songs about what they see. "standing in the rain", "devil in a midnight mass," and "saint veronika" are like that. |
